Chapter 271 Holy Shit, You’re A Tang! (1/2)
”Father?!” Mo Sheng said, almost falling over. He then looked at Lu AnLing with the purest expression of confusion. ”I-I thought your dad died?”
Lu AnLing frowned. ”Well that makes two of us... as you can hear, it's been a hectic month.”
Hearing Lu AnLing's sigh as she said this, Mo Sheng froze for a second. He didn't know if he should laugh, ask her more questions or allow her to have her secrets but seeing how Lu AnLing bore holes into his phone, Mo Sheng sighed himself.
”Congratulations, I guess, then... wait... Holy shit, you're a Tang!” Mo Sheng almost screamed this as his eyes widened in Lu AnLing's direction.
Seeing the childish expression on the boys face, Lu AnLing could not help but burst out in laughter. ”Wow you're super slow aren't you?”
Hearing this, Mo Sheng crossed his arms over his chest. ”No! You're the one who's been hiding things, I see. When were you going to tell me that you're a goddamn Tang?!”
Lu AnLing shook her head. ”I just found out myself. My dad used the name Lu Yian, not Tang Yian...”
”Why?” Mo Sheng asked with a frown.
”No idea but I'll make sure to ask him whenever I can...”
Thinking about this, Lu AnLing's face darkened considerably. She truly didn't know how to feel about this situation. She didn't know if she should be happy or angry concerning the situation with her father...
Mo Sheng: ”I guess we will win hands down then. That's kinda boring.”
Hearing this, Lu AnLing gave a dry laugh.
”I wouldn't be so sure about that...” Lu AnLing said with a sigh.
Lu AnLing wasn't only saying this because Tang Yiling was their opponent, or that her father didn't remember her but she feared that, despite not remembering her from clear memory, that Tang Yian would remember how he felt about her.
It wasn't that the man hated her... but he always expected too much from her and this was suffocating.
Thinking this, Lu AnLing then looked at the guitar which Mo Sheng had left in the corner. Seeing this, memories of Tang Yian teaching her how to play the guitar entered her mind.
The young Lu AnLing played the F cord for the first time and it sounded completely wrong.
Hearing this, Tang Yian frowned.
”You're doing it wrong.” The man sighed before he took the guitar right out of the little girl's hands and then he began to strum. ”Like this!”
After saying this, Tang Yian handed her the guitar and said. ”Again!”
Sadly for Lu AnLing, she just couldn't get it. Seeing this Tang Yian frowned more.
”Your fingers aren't in the right place.”Tang Yian sighed and roughly placed Lu AnLing's fingers in the proper place. ”Practice the F cord a hundred tunes for the next 20 days.”
”100 every day!?” Lu AnLing groaned.
Hearing her whine, Tang Yian looked at the girl dead in the eyes without a sliver of remorse. ”You wanted to be a musician right?”
”No... I want to be a singer!” The young Lu AnLing said with annoyance.
Tang Yian frowned at Lu AnLing's answer. ”Well don't you think it's shameful for a singer to not play instruments?!”
Lu AnLing did not know what to reply to Tang Yian's words and as soon as the man heard her silence he just left the room.
Lu AnLing had practised and practised and practised after that until she hated the guitar more than anything but once she noticed her progress in it, Lu AnLing felt strangely happy.
The result of ones hard work was always something a person found happiness in.
And then one day, when she felt like she was doing exceptionally well, Lu AnLing decided to compose a small song and then she showed it to her father.
He listened to her intently as she played, without a single reaction until she was finished. When she was done, Lu AnLing smiled wide and then she looked at her father with anticipation. Seeing this, Tang Yian paused for a moment before he said,
”It sounds a bit off and you're not very good at switching between C and F. Practice more.”
Hearing this back then, Lu AnLing felt her heartbreak but hearing it in her mind nowadays just made her annoyed.
