Chapter 115 Isll Wait For You (1/2)

Lu AnLing hugged Lu Duyi and coaxed him a bit under the strange stares of the relatives. After a small while everyone sat down waiting for news about Grandma Lu.

As Lu AnLing gazed at the door, she felt herself grow more and more nervous as time went by and she wasn't the only one.

No one made a sound, they just stared into space.

Lu Duyi, who sat beside her, held his hands over his face as if he was trying his best not to cry.

Reaching over, Lu AnLing was going to pat him but she suddenly felt her phone buzz.

Hurrying into a corner a little farther away from her family, Lu AnLing answered the phone.

”Mmm.”

Hearing this sound, Kang Jun immediately spoke. ”Are you still at the party?”

Kang Jun's voice was still beautifully clear, even if she was hearing it through a phone. Though it was slightly different than the others times they had spoken. Lu AnLing wasn't sure how to explain the change.

For a moment, Lu AnLing paused. She felt tears well up in her eyes.

”No… I'm at the hospital.”

”Are you hurt?” Kang Jun's voice changed. She could hear his worry.

”My grandmother collapsed.”

Hearing the weakness in the girl's voice, Kang Jun didn't know what to say to her. The line was quiet for a moment, then he spoke in a soft tone.

”I'm coming.”

Hearing his voice, Lu AnLing's heart couldn't help but skip a beat.

”No. You really shouldn't.”

Kang Jun: ”I will. I want to be by your side.”

Lu AnLing's heart skipped a beat once more but at the same time, a calming warmth enveloped her.

Though she had to be realistic.

It wouldn't be right for her and Kang Jun to be seen together here. Mostly when they had no idea what their relationship truly was.

So, she told the man to wait for her outside and that, as soon as she could, she would get out and see him.

”I'll wait for you.” Kang Jun's voice was low, and to Lu AnLing they contained the purest sincerity she had ever heard.

Her heart began to tighten.

At around 2am, the Lu family were informed that Grandma Lu's condition was stable. Everyone was relieved but they were also informed that they would need to wait until Grandma Lu was awake to know the extent of the damage her fall had caused.

The doctor even suspected that she would have a concussion.

The adults all decided that it was best to stay and wait but Madame Kang ordered Mr. Jing to send Lu Duyi home.

Lu Duyi was adamant in staying but his mothers words were like the law so he was forced to follow Mr. Jing and his father out and since Lu AnLing's aunt and uncle had to fetch Lu Xinya, because they'd promised her that morning. They left a small while after Lu Duyi.

This left, Lu AnLing, Lu Shuya, their mother, Lu Jiayi, her boyfriend, their grandfather and Old Chong waiting. Chong Feng was also with them but he drifted in an out of the area, for reasons unknown to everyone.

Lu Jiayi was on her phone.

Reading a message, Lu Jiayi frowned and then she walked over to her grandfather. The woman's voice was low but because the area where they all sat was quiet, everyone heard her.

”Grandpa, Xinya is coming soon but… she doesn't feel comfortable because,” Lu Jiayi turned to look at Lu AnLing who subconsciously glared at the girl.

”I don't understand what she's uncomfortable with. We're in a hospital surrounded by family members, what does she expect will happen?” Lu AnLing's voice was strong and indifferent.

She sincerely didn't understand the point of Lu Xinya's act.

Before Lu AnLing's arrival, Lu Xinya was the resident star of the Lu family. She was equipped with an amazing singing teacher and the girl had even won a couple of competitions.

Like her sister, Lu Xinya liked to have the spotlight to herself and so, when Lu AnLing proved to be on par or even in some aspects, better, than her, Lu Xinya couldn't stand it.

Since the beginning, Lu Xinya and Lu AnLing had never really gotten along but one incident that sealed the fate of their relationship was when Lu AnLing had upstaged her in a singing competition.

That day, all hell broke loose and it ends with Lu Xinya getting a broken leg and Lu AnLing being blamed for it.

That day, her fathers words had run through Lu AnLing's mind. ”Mr little siren, you should know that when you shine bright, people will want to extinguish it.”

That was exactly what had happened.
