189 Missing persons 3 (1/2)
Mrs. Wilson was in a daze while trying to process the scene unfolding in front of her. There is CEO Anderson, and the woman who is holding him must be his wife, and who are the others…? It does not matter. All of them came to search for Maximilian Anderson and Dr. Elizabeth Williams and even if Tyler does not have anything to do with their disappearance, he was harassing Dr. Williams in order to get the gossip that he can sell. However, considering Tyler's behavior so far, even she is having trouble believing that he has nothing to do with their disappearance.
The more Mrs. Wilson looked at her son, the more her disappointment swelled. ”Tyler. How many chances I gave you?”
Tyler nervously glanced at Nathan, Madeline, Rhonda, and Foxy. Somehow, the younger generation didn't appear to be so intimidating, so he could tune them out partially. ”Mom… can we talk about this later?”
Mrs. Wilson's temper flared. Does Tyler think that all these people will leave without getting their answers? ”Later? What is later? After you offend someone else? After someone really gets hurt? I am already getting threats because of your behavior, and your father as well. Our businesses are in danger because of your reckless behavior. When are you going to realize that this is not a game? This is the last straw.”
Mrs. Wilson turned to her husband. ”Call your brother. On Monday we will request Dr. Shaw to discharge Tyler and by the end of the day tomorrow, he is joining the military.”
Tyler paled. His Uncle is a colonel in the United States Marine Corps, and he said more than once that he can pull some strings to expedite Tyler's enrolment into the military. Mrs. Wilson threatened Tyler many times that he will be sent there, but now it looks serious.
Tyler looked at his father silently asking for help, but he only saw that the old man looked away, avoiding Tyler's gaze.
Tyler sneered. His father was never able to stand up to his wife! Whenever the old man helped him, it was always sneakily so that Tyler's mom does not find out. Useless!
”Mom, are you serious?”
'PAK!'
A hard slap landed on Tyler's face. He didn't expect it, so he was completely dazed.
”Am I serious? Don't talk to me. I am ashamed that I failed to raise you properly and for your own good I hope that the military will succeed where I failed and make a man out of you.” Mrs. Wilson paused and saw a defiant look on Tyler's face. ”Don't even think about running away! If in the morning I don't find you in this bed, say goodbye to your apartment, your car, and your boat. I will sell them without any regrets and cancel all your credit cards.”
Mrs. Wilson turned to Nathan. ”I am terribly sorry for all the mess Tyler caused. I don't know how to make up for it. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.”
Nathan was ready to do some scolding, but seeing that Mrs. Wilson is genuinely remorseful, his fighting spirit diminished. ”Don't worry about it. Just make sure that Tyler does not cause any more trouble. Our main priority is to find Max and Liz.”
Hunter approached Tyler's bed. ”Tyler, if you have anything to do with this… the army will not save you.”
Sabrina was behind Hunter glaring at Tyler. She was too angry to speak.
”I don't know what you are talking about, and I don't know why you are here. I have nothing to do with Max and Liz disappearing!”, Tyler screamed.
Hunter ignored Tyler. Unless Tyler admits that he knows where Max and Liz are, Hunter will assume that Tyler is lying and it seems that Tyler is sticking to his story.
Hunter checked his phone. ”It's not only Suzy, there are also few others. We should form teams and check them out, it will be faster.”
”I will help you…”, Mrs. Wilson offered.
Rhonda is not the one to be left behind. ”Count me in.”
A minute later, everyone left Tyler's room and only Tyler and his dad were left.
Tyler looked dejectedly at the empty side table. His mom took his phone away! How is he supposed to contact anyone for help?
”Dad, say something… are you going to allow mom to send me to the army?”, Tyler pleaded.
Mr. Wilson sighed. ”Son, I helped you so many times that I ran out of options. There is nothing else I can do.”
”I will die there!”
Mr. Wilson shook his head. ”And that would be my fault. If I educated you earlier, you would not need to suffer now.”
”If you are admitting this as your fault, then you go to the army! Why are you sending me?”
Mr. Wilson waved dismissively and made his way toward the door.
Tyler saw that his father is leaving, and he panicked. Is this how it ends? If his Uncle gets his hands on him, it will be years until he can return home! He can't allow this to happen. He needs to do something. Anything.
”Dad! You need to believe me!”, Tyler cried desperately. ”I didn't do this. If anything, Max and Elizabeth are bullies! When I approached Elizabeth on the parking lot, she kicked me so viciously that I barely got up. And then in the bar, Max came out of nowhere and continued beating me where that bitch left off. I am in the hospital because of them!”
”Shut up!”, Mr. Wilson roared. ”Do you know what you are saying? If they call the police to investigate their disappearance you will be their prime suspect. You just admitted that you have a motive! If I'm you, I would continue pretending that I don't remember how I ended up here. Don't tell me that you would rather go to jail than to the army...”
Tyler looked after his father who left the room in disbelief. Just what is going on? Is he really going to be sent to the army? If he tries to leave, he will be a deserter, and they shoot at deserters! And what was that nonsense about jail?
