Chapter 65: Surfacing Hope (1/2)

”Mn. I can.” She replied with a nod.

What? What did she just say? I didn't expect it but… It's really possible? The sound of my heart pounding grew louder as the hairs on my neck stood up.

A joke? No, that doesn't seem to be the case…

”Gray?” Lita's voice called out with a worried tone. ”Are you okay…?” She asked.

Okay…? Am I making a weird expression right now…? But Why wouldn't I be… She just told me she can find Ria…

Without even realizing it, I suddenly grab on to Lita's shoulders before asking. ”Does that mean she's alive?!”.

The sheer desperation which could be heard through the cracks in my voice surprised not only me but also Lita.

”Y-Yes…! I think” She replied, startled.

”Where!? Where is she?!” I asked, my face sounding even more desperate as I shook her fragile trembling body.

”Gray!” Kylo called out to me.

Upon hearing his voice, I snapped out of it. Lita's eyes had grown watery as she trembled in fear.

”Ah… Sorry…” I muttered as I hung my head.

Shit… I lost my composure… What the hell is going on with me… Why does this always happen when it comes to her? As I wondered that, I suddenly felt a warm palm rub my hair.

”I-It's fine…” Said Lita as she suddenly patted me in the head. ”You must've been worried right? I know because I was worried too… You helped me find my mummy so I'll help you find who you want, okay…” She muttered.

Not knowing what to say, I kept my head hung down. Being comforted by a child feels lame but the fact that it worked and I genuinely feel better and hopeful… Is even lamer…

The contorted expression of fear and disbelief on his face seemed to fade as he waited for her explanation.

”I don't understand much about my ability still… I can't control my visions properly… But I think I can do it… No… For Gray, I will do it.” She muttered before closing her eyes.

Kylo and Gray watched as there was a sudden change in the air around her. With her eyes still closed, Lita grabbed Gray's hand before pointing it to his right.

”She's alive.” She uttered, her face void of emotions and stoic.

Just from hearing those words alone he dropped to his knees. It was as if a massive amount of weight was lifted off of his shoulders. He proceeded to turn to the direction she was pointing, only to find It leading the underground refugee's home.

What could she have meant by that? He wondered.

”Cold and Dark place.. Labyrinth. In that direction. Stuck inside…” She muttered, her voice trembling as she said so. Despite that, the expression on her face stayed the same.

”Danger-”

Before she could say anymore, she was suddenly interrupted as she was blown away by a strange mysterious force which had come out of nowhere. Neither of the two had even sensed it while her figure was propelled backwards at high speeds.

Just as she was about to collide into the wall however, she was caught by Gray before they both halted in the air.

Her eyes were now open wide, she was releasing heavy puffs from having successfully managed to use her ability. ”Did I do it…?” She asked with a worried look.

”Yeah… You did it.” Said Gray before suddenly piercing a hole into the concrete wall with his finger in the direction she had pointed. ”You really did it…” He repeated, only this time with a bright smile.
