C276 Pancake of methyl ethyl propionate (1/2)
Jiang Xiaobai had originally planned to just send the news over, but he was not too interested in seeing Chang Zilong at all.
After all, this was a military base. If one was a little bit careless, it would cause a misunderstanding. It was not easy to escape from the encirclement of several thousand people.
However, ever since he saw this group of useless trash, Jiang Xiaobai had completely changed his mind.
What was there to worry about? It was a pack of pigs, a tiger looking for a pig's head.
Therefore, Jiang Xiaobai suppressed his mustache and walked forward, wanting to see what that Chang Zilong looked like. He had actually made a group of people into pigs!
Entering the village, he could finally make out some of the barracks. On the roadside, there were signs such as horse sheds, grass fields, granaries, armory, and even blockades and roadblocks.
However, there were only a few people on duty, and practically everyone was sleeping soundly.
In fact, the few men who followed the bearded man felt that it was too boring and went back to their rooms to sleep.
Four or five minutes later, the mustache man and Jiang Xiaobai had actually passed through the village and entered into another field.
Jiang Xiaobai asked in confusion: ”Where's Chang Zilong?”
”We have three towns, A, B, and C. That was C just now, B is in front, Lord Douyuhou is in the A, we still have four and a half miles to go.” Along the way, Jiang Xiaobai had long returned the blade to him, and the small mustached man was no longer angry nor afraid, as he said: ”Brother, why don't you go over yourself? ”I still have to go to work tomorrow. I'll have to waste another bowl of congee after this ten-odd miles.”
”Let's go, I'll get Duyu to give you a biscuit when we get there.” Jiang Xiaobai was too lazy to bother with others, so he did not want to let the little mustache man go.
The small mustached man's eyes immediately lit up. ”Really? A biscuit? ”Don't lie to me!”
”I won't lie to you!” Jiang Xiaobai felt sour in his heart.
After only walking two miles, this so-called soldier was already staggering and his stomach was growling.
As one might imagine, they did not train at all, and could not even guarantee food.
The so-called half-soldiers and half-peasants, they were actually not even comparable to the peasants.
The peasants, after a year of hard work, were able to get along well, but they were always half-starved.
After passing through a field of fields, a village appeared in front of them. Judging from the size of the village, it was slightly bigger than the C battalion. The house was a little better, and many families had their lights on as well.
At the entrance of the village, there was a barricade, and a soldier in his twenties was sleeping with his hands on his hips, leaning against the wall.
The sound of footsteps woke him up. He yawned, raised his head and looked at Jiang Xiaobai and the small mustache man who had walked over, then asked in displeasure: ”Barb, why are you not sleeping at home in the middle of the night? What are you doing here?”
Haozi smiled and said, ”I do want to sleep. Since the relatives of the Lord Douyuhou have come, I'll send them over.”
”You're so kind, I'll let you eat it, right?” The little soldier laughed, stared at Jiang Xiaobai for a while, then said: ”You did not bring any weapons, go on.”
It was that simple. Although there was one more village to investigate, it was still nothing.
As they passed through the village, they soon saw the A battalion in the distance.
In the dark of the night, this village was clearly different from the other two. It took up a bit less space, but it had the appearance of a barracks.
The entire village had its back against the western mountain. Although there was no wall, there was still a barrier built from wooden stakes. Every few dozen meters, there would be a burning torch that outlined the outline of the village like a fire dragon.
The interior was rather high, and the buildings were obvious. The interior was large and grand. There was even a spacious area in the middle of the village. It seemed to be a public square.
On the west side of the square, there was a row of large tiled houses with blue and white tiles.
Flags were planted at the entrance to the village, along with in the plaza, in the tiled buildings, and even on the mountaintop behind the village.
The shapes, colors, and sizes of the flags varied. Some of the flags had the words ”Song” on them while others had the word ”Chang” or ”Zheng” on them.
