Chapter 54 (1/2)

When Xiao Yu read till here, his stomach was full of mockable moments, and he thought, “What kind of hero is this? An Alliance Hero? I didn’t even see that Ruslan at all, okay? If it wasn’t for those damn Adventurers being too hard to deal with, I’d have beaten your sh*t out in a minute.

“Fought hard? I was the one who fought hard! Well, it was not easy for me to lead a bunch of weak monsters to fight with two groups of players.”

It could be seen from this that although the Adventurer players were very powerful in the game, they hardly had a sense of presence in the game plot. It was them who killed the monsters in Night Whisper Village and defeated the monsters badly, but the biggest credit went to the NPC whose name was not even heard before. At most, they would add one more sentence saying “with the help of some Adventurers”. Hence, no matter how strong you were in the game, you would just become one of the “some Adventurers”, without your name being mentioned.

However, there were trade-offs. Although Bosses and Heroes could leave their names on the plot, once they were killed, they were really dead. So it was hard to say which side was better.

Xiao Yu shook his head and did not worry about this problem. Anyway, different people had different values. Maybe the Adventurer players did not even care about how they would be recorded in the Firmament Archive and just wanted the best equipment.

However, Xiao Yu felt that it was strange that the Firmament Archive did not mention how he had been instructed by Demonic Blaze Overlord Carax, or the Elemental Seed. It seemed that the Firmament Archive would not mention everything that had happened. These things might only be disclosed after the plot was completed. But Carax was doomed to lose the Elemental Seed, and he was not sure if he would know the truth one day.

He closed this tab and searched for the key word: Shadow Brotherhood. Soon, he found a lot of relevant materials of plot descriptions.

Firmament Archive: Volume of Aizelasi—Chapter of the Alliance—Human History—Section 627—The Founding of the Shadow Brotherhood

The Shadow Brotherhood was founded in Firmament Age 1374, and the stories before and after its founding were ups and downs. At the beginning, there was only a Human Bandit organization in West Wild, which was the Difia Brotherhood, and its predecessor was the Stonemason Guild of the Storm Kingdom. The Stonemason Guild’s leader was the famous Edwin VanCleef. Under his lead, the Stonemason Guild participated in the construction of the new Storm Kingdom, but after the completion of the construction, Edwin VanCleef encountered a problem that many contractors would encounter—the boss repudiated the debt. The nobles of Storm City refused to pay the Stonemason Guild wages with the excuse of lack of funds, and at the same time, they tried to bribe Edwin VanCleef with a noble title.

When Edwin VanCleef did not manage to get back the wages, he led armed guild members to demand payment. As a result, they were brutally suppressed. Edwin VanCleef took the survivors and escaped from Storm City, founded the Difia Brotherhood in West Wild, and began their life as an armed regime.

In order to break up this huge criminal gang, Storm City sent the secret agent team of MI7, with Dakar Rhode as the leader. Dakar Rhode, with his amazing acting skills and personal charm, secretly infiltrated the Difia Brotherhood and gained the trust of the leader, Edwin VanCleef.

In an ensnare operation, he and his team members successfully ambushed and killed Edwin VanCleef.

Before his death, Edwin VanCleef claimed that his career was just, and brought out the corruption evidence of the nobles of Storm City, and many other pieces of evidence. This evidence proved that the nobles of Storm City had been bribed by unholy forces, as well as committed various illegal acts. Dakar Rhode was shocked when he received the evidence, and started to doubt the justice of his work. He then presented this evidence to the Storm City Council, hoping that they would punish those greedy and decanted nobles.

However, he did not expect that the evidence would disappear strangely. Not only that, his secret service team was also arrested for treason and was about to be executed.
