Chapter 49 (2/2)
It looked like this Shadow Brotherhood was not weak. He actually had not heard of them before. They were really secretive.
Xiao Yu relaxed now because they had so much strength. It was obvious they would not kill him for just a few Reputation Points or a few pieces of equipment.
Passing by the desolate wheat field, they walked on a small, quiet pathway. Under the moonlight, West Wild’s scenery had a different dreary beauty.
Along the way, all the monsters seen were actually those from the Difia Brotherhood. They all saluted Dakar Rhode as he passed just like it was his kingdom. Dakar Rhode was not simple for being able to develop his Monster Force to such an extent.
Just as Xiao Yu was deep in thought, an earthen hill appeared in front of him. That hill was not high, so maybe using “mound” to describe it would be more accurate. There were jagged rocks and quite the number of ore veins distributed on the mound. It seemed to be a mining area. After bypassing the mound, a mine entrance appeared and they walked towards it. Dakar Rhode stretched his hand to signal a “please enter” gesture, then they headed deeper into the mine.
The mine was extremely deep and complicated; it was just like a maze with all the turns. It was similar to most mines in the Aizelasi land. This no longer belonged to the Aizelasi or the Horde, now monsters were everywhere.
There were Kobold Miners, Goblin Miners, and Gnoll Miners mining under the command of some Difia Overseers
It was no wonder no monsters could be seen on the way here—they were all captured to be used as slaves. The other Monster Forces had probably been annihilated and absorbed.
“I hope you will not feel uncomfortable,” said Dakar Rhode suddenly.
“What?”
“Those Goblins, you won’t feel uncomfortable having those of your race being slaves, would you?”
“Haha, are you joking? This is only a game,” said Xiao Yu as he thought it was quite a funny question.
Dakar Rhode. “That’s great. I was afraid that you’d be one of those Role Players.”
Xiao Yu was curious, so he asked, “Oh, why exactly would you think that?”
Dakar Rhode replied, “That’s because after researching, I realized that the non-Adventurer Mode players that are quite powerful currently are mostly Role Players.”
Xiao Yu nodded. “I know a little about that. Normal players are used to those stereotypical internet games, so they bring those habits when playing this game. Thus, when they play Monster Mode, Guard Mode, or Mercenary Mode, they essentially think of themselves as traditional Adventurer players. That is the reason why they are not good at playing the game. However, Role Players are different. They immerse themselves in their role. If they are monsters, then they are monsters, Mercenaries are Mercenaries, Summoned Beasts are Summoned Beasts, and even if one has picked a Wild Beast character, then they would need to play it like a wild beast to be able to succeed.”
Dakar Rhode nodded. “You’re right. In fact, I’ve also realized such a thing through repetitive research and investigation.”
As they spoke, they had already reached the end of the mine.
A huge, stone door appeared in front of the two of them. There was an indentation beside the stone door. Dakar Rhode took out a diamond-shaped crystal and stuffed it in. The crystal lit up in blue light and the stone door gradually opened. Behind the door was a pitch-black hole. That hole was covered by a blue veil of light. Xiao Yu was astonished that this was actually a dungeon.
Dakar Rhode stretched out his hand and invited Xiao Yu in. “Welcome, Eric. No need to be nervous, this is our territory. You are safe here.”
