Chapter 21 (2/2)
System prompt message: You have insufficient power, you are unable to cast the spell.
Damn it, Xiao Yu was at a loss for words. The Goblin race was rather stupid if their mana ran out so quickly. However, it did not matter—he was going to destroy them no matter what.
“Fire Element, go deal with that Water Element!” Xiao Yu passed down the instructions before bolting towards the Mage.
The Fire Element and Water Element were mortal enemies, hence both their attacks had additional boosts. However, since Xiao Yu’s Fire Element was level 10, two levels higher than its opponent, it was a secured victory.
The two other Adventurers would have to face Xiao Yu.
The Mage had only fired two Frost Arrows, inflicting over 20 points of damage to Xiao Yu, but he had already dashed up.
The Mage panicked and fled the scene. However, as Xiao Yu was in Elite Mode, he was much faster than the average player, so how could anyone escape? After catching up to the female Mage, he pounded her head hard without holding back. A -47 popped out as Xiao Yu depleted a third of the Mage’s health bar. For such a normal attack to inflict greater damage than the fire balls, the Mage could only blame her low HP. The Mage shrieked and wailed in fear.
Xiao Yu couldn’t care less as he followed with two more strikes and Purple Toffee collapsed unwillingly.
“Toffee!” the Priest cried out, but she turned and realized that the Goblin Boss was already darting towards her with a huge staff. Upon seeing that, she began wailing.
Xiao Yu was embarrassed because it looked as though he was bullying a little girl. However, as humans were different from monsters, and for blindly following the rest in Boss hunting, they should accept their fate. Xiao Yu thumped hard with his staff.
Several seconds later, Weiwei Soy Milk, the female Priest, fell to the ground as well.
Xiao Yu glowed brightly as he leveled up again.
Haha, leveling up was indeed faster when killing Adventurers. Every Adventurer contributed around 300 EXP, which was twice as much as the normal monsters. It was almost comparable to fighting Bosses.
Furthermore, the three players had dropped some equipment. Although Xiao Yu was unable to wear them, they still had some other uses.
Players in Monster Mode had 3 choices after obtaining Adventurers’ equipment.
The first choice would be to resolve them into materials using the system.
Materials could be used to build equipment specifically for monsters, and there were several types of equipment that every type of monster could build. There was a chance for Adventurers to drop those; however, those were only copies.
The second choice would be to use them as ballast. The system would automatically select equipment for players when monsters were killed. If the monster did not have any ballast, they would have to pay to revive and the fee would correspond to the same price as the equipment.
However, if there was ballast, the system would prioritize that equipment and drop it for the players. That way, players in Monster Mode would not have to pay to get revived.
The last choice would be to exchange for game money with the system, which could, in turn, be sold for real money on the market. This was not a worthy deal as the system would usually exchange for 30-50% of the equipment’s true price. Hence, this would only be practical if they had destroyed teams in dungeons and collected a big pile of equipment. Furthermore, the low-grade equipment that these three players had dropped was not worth much too.
The equipment was cleared by the system’s recovery.
System prompt message: Equipment has been recovered, please select your treatment method.
1. Resolve.
2. Add to drop queue.
3. System Repurchase.
Xiao Yu chose to resolve the equipment.
System prompt message: Resolved three Adventurers’ equipment, gained 9 pieces of Adventurer’s Remnant.
Adventurer’s Remnant: Adventurers are unique creatures that do not leave their corpses behind. Instead, they leave odd remnants that could be used to build equipment.
