21 Mui Gus demise (1/2)

After what had happened that morning, Hui Shi decided to not appear in front of Jiao Yu for the time being.

It was not that she feared Jiao Yu, but because Hui Shi knew that Jiao Yu already have knowledge of her plans, so what's the point to continue when one's quarry had noticed the trap laid for it? She'll only gain loss if she tried to pursue her schemes and aside from that, she's got no time as her daughter, Liu Hui Yin has already reached the marriageable age.

Jiao Yu was also too busy to keep track to the things that is happening in the residence as she had more pressing matters, for instance, the people from her past and the matter with the organization. The organization had not made a move either.

In Jiao Yu's room, Jing Chu and Bai Chen was combing her hair and picking up some hair ornaments while their young miss was idly playing the chess on the table.

”Young lady, that Mui Gu really has guts, she even dared to leave the Liu residence with the Second Furen's jewelry.” Jing Chu grumbled.

It was greatly spread around the Liu residence that, a maid of a high rank and was highly trusted had gone and left the Liu residence with the jewelries of the Second furen.

It was not really a big matter since there would always be a scenario like this however, the maid who ran was the girl named Mui Gu. Mui Gu had gotten the respect and trust from the masters in the Liu residence even though she was just a maid, and considering that she was a daughter of an official, it was somewhat baffling.

Mui Gu's father was an official and was trusted and close with the previous Liu Master, that was why even after death and degrading the family of Mui Gu as servants, she was still treated accordingly and kindly by the Liu masters when she was sold to them. However, How could one betray the benefactor who helped her and even stealing jewelries from the furens?

Jiao Yu did not pay attention to what Jing Chu was saying, picking another black piece and putting it to the other side of the board, while Bai Chen momentarily stopped in combing Jiao Yu's hair before she continued again.

”Mui Gu was one of young lady's maid but was never here by your sideYoung Lady, won't this matter find blame to you?”

Bai Chen stared at her fellow maid and said, ”As I have just said, 'Mui Gu' was never by young lady's side, so how can someone put the blame onto Young Lady?”

”Jing Chu should just focus on Young Lady than what was spread around the residence, you're bothering miss.”

Seeing that Jing Chu was reprimanded by Bai Chen, she did not get angry as Bai Chen was totally correct and only silently help her fellow maid in taking good of their young lady.

A terrible silence fell into a room.

Whatever that was happening outside, Mui Gu would not be aware of it. When she woke up, she was already in a small room with only one oil lamp lit which serve as her light into the endless darkness.

Her hand and feet was bound and her mouth was covered. She did not know why, but her eyes were not covered perhaps, the person who took her forgot to do so or maybe it was not needed anymore.

There was no sound that can be heard. Aside from the one chair across her and herself, the room was completely empty.

She remembered that after she had completed her job to harm the Fourth Young lady, she was heading back to her sleeping quarter when suddenly someone knocked her by the head. And one did not know how much time passed as she stayed in that room without anything to help her.

Mui Gu did not know who did this and if she can get out of there, she will find the person who caused this and harm them just like the Fourth Young lady. As she was musing the whole time she had awoken, her mind could not help but think that maybe the person who did this was the Second Furen. Knowing that once the matter has been know in the whole residence it was not that simple to point her as the one that harmed the young miss however, if they dig deeper than this, she was sure they will find her. And probably, the Second Furen did not want this to get involve with her hence, the second furen might've ordered someone to silence her.

The black lacquer door of the chamber suddenly opened and with the blinding lights coming from the outside and from not seeing too much light, Mui Gu squinted her eyes, almost closing it.

A silhouette emerged from the door and once the door was closed, the silhouette took form of a petite figure, wearing all-black and a brocade cloak. The person who came, unclasped her cloak and revealed a beautiful face.
