Chapter 220 - Everyones Dead (2/2)

Aiden frowned. He didn't like seeing Anya scared like this. He would do whatever it took to make Anya happy.

”Don't be afraid. Everything will be fine,” he said.

After arriving at the park, Anya saw all the garden lights lit up.

”Ma'am...” one of the employees saw Anya's arrival and immediately approached.

Anya's heart felt tight. ”What's the problem?”

The two employees were the people Harris directly selected for Anya. They were responsible for caring for vanilla and various other flowers.

Seeing all the plants growing, the two of them were also happy, like watching the development of their own child.

”The vanilla will die,” one of the employees' eyes turned red and a tear escaped from there.

”The vanilla is fully grown and almost blooming. Why are they suddenly like this?” Anya couldn't believe all this. She immediately ran to the park.

Anya saw all the leaves turning yellow and the vanilla looked wilted. She felt her gaze suddenly darken.

Aiden immediately supported Anya's body from behind. He embraced her, making sure that his wife was alright. ”Anya, are you okay?”

”Aiden… The vanilla is dead. My mother and I worked hard for three years. Why did everyone die?” Tears uncontrollably fell one by one from Anya's eyes.

The two of her employees lowered their heads, looking very guilty and apologizing right away. ”Ma'am, please excuse us. We can't take care of the vanilla very well.”

”Do you know what happened?” Aiden's sharp eyes looked at the two people.

Anya could only stare at her vanilla which looked wilted and felt her whole body stiffen. She took a shaky step forward to one of the plants and looked at it carefully. ”Did you fertilize or water it?”

”Could it be too much water?” one of the employees looked at Anya with fear and caution. His eyes were still red and he looked as hurt as Anya when he saw the plants he was taking care of were all dying.

”This morning, we prepared water with nutrients to water the plants. Who knows, that the vanilla leaves turned yellow overnight,” whispered one of the employees.

”Is there any water left?” asked Aiden.

”All the water is gone, but the watering place is still there and has not been cleaned,” he replied.

Harris immediately checked it and sent his photo to the expert Aiden had contacted.

”He said, there is most likely a mixture of herbicides. But it is still not known what type of herbicide was used so it will take time to check,” said Harris after confirming this incident with experts.

”Herbicide?” The employee was shocked. ”We prepare the nutritional water ourselves and we know very well that we cannot use herbicides on this vanilla plant.”

Anya's heart ached as if it was gripped tightly but she was speechless.

”Are all plants watered with this herbicide?” She said shakily.

The employee shook his head. ”Not all of them, only a few are poured with the water. The water had just been used in the morning, but at night, we suspected something was strange. We thought the water was too much that it made the plants wither. But we never thought that there were herbicides. We didn't do it.”

”I'm sure you didn't do it,” Anya calmly said.

The two employees looked at each other and one of them asked, ”Ma'am, do you mean someone else did it besides us?”

”Too bad there is no CCTV in this park. Even if someone else came, we wouldn't know who did it.” Anya said gloomily.

”I installed CCTV right in front of the garden gate,” Aiden calmly said.
