Chapter 48:Morning (1/2)

Anya cried in Aiden's arms. Her tears continued to flow one after another, soaking Aiden's pajamas. She could not forget the nightmare that haunted her sleep.

The dream felt so real that it made her sweat. Her clothes felt a little wet, but she didn't dare to move. She didn't dare get out of bed and get away from Aiden. She needed Aiden by her side.

”It was just a dream. It's okay…” Aiden hugged Anya's body while gently stroking her hair. He stroked Anya's hair, stroked her back and whispered words to calm her.

”I… I dreamed that we were locked in a dark place. That place… The place was so dark that nothing could be seen. But suddenly a big fire engulfed us, and it burned everything…” Anya said haltingly, crying sobs. Her head hung limply on Aiden's shoulders, but her hands still hugged Aiden tightly as if she didn't want to let go of Aiden's protection. Her tears were still flowing because the fear that haunted her heart didn't go away.

When he heard Anya's story, Aiden just stroked her head gently. He let Anya put all her guts out so that the woman would feel a little relieved.

”My head hurts ...” Anya muttered. The more she tried to remember the dream, the more intense the pain stung her. Her head felt as if it was going to crack.

However, the pain in Anya's head did not decrease, it only got worse. She broke away from Aiden's embrace and held her head while crying in pain, ”My head hurts a lot. It feels like it's going to break!” Anya gripped her head hard, trying to ease the pain.

Aiden immediately stood up and turned on the light in his room so that the room was not dark. After that he returned to the bed and grabbed Anya into his arms. He held Anya's hand which was gripping her own head hard. He didn't want her to injure herself.

He whispered in Anya's ear, trying to help her to forget her dream, ”Shhh… Close your eyes. Just calm down. I am here. I will not leave you.”

Aiden's deep voice sounded in Anya's ears and made her feel a little calmer. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to calm down. Anya returned to burying her head on Aiden's shoulder, trying to forget the pain in her head. Aiden's shoulders were her only shelter.

They didn't move at all, staying in each other's embrace even though half an hour had passed. Anya's head was still buried in Aiden's shoulder while Aiden's hand continued to gently caress Anya's hair. The pain in her head was getting less and her crying had subsided. Anya closed her eyes, allowing herself to fall asleep in Aiden's arms.

They were enveloped in silence, immersed in a soothing silence. No sound was heard, only the sound of their regular breathing could be heard in the room.

Aiden looked down to see the face of the woman in his arms. The woman's eyes looked puffy and her lashes were still wet with tears. Her forehead was a little sweaty even though the air conditioner in the room was very cold. The woman closed her eyes but her hands did not let go of Aiden's body, not wanting to lose the only support.

Aiden's face softened when he saw Anya. He really wanted to protect this woman. Maybe it was destined that his cold heart would only melt because of Anya, his little sun.

Just by hugging her tightly and smelling her faint scent, joy seemed to flood his heart. It was that simple.

Finally, the two of them slept while hugging as if they were afraid of losing each other ...

...

In the morning, the warm rays entering the room made Anya wake up from her sleep. She opened her eyes and realized that she was still leaning on Aiden's body while her hands were still tightly hugging Aiden's waist. Their position was still the same as when they fell asleep yesterday. They seemed not to want to be separated from each other.

The handsome man's face was right in front of her. Aiden was still fast asleep. His eyes were still closed and his breathing was regular. Anya was pensive as she looked at Aiden's face, seeing the man's sharp nose and unusual curled eyelashes. How lucky she was, every morning Anya woke up to this incredibly handsome face.

When she saw that face, she recalled how Aiden had hugged her tightly last night, trying to calm her down when she had a nightmare. The man was so gentle with her.

She pulled her hand, trying to get her hands from Aiden's waist. However, Aiden's large arms suddenly embraced her, pulling her body closer to his. There was no distance separating the two. Last night they also hugged tightly like this. However, it was because Anya was having a bad dream. By now, Anya was not panicking because of her nightmare and she was fully conscious. Therefore, her face immediately turned red.

Aiden buried his face on Anya's shoulder. His lips were smiling when he saw Anya's ears reddened too. Anya could feel Aiden's lips curling over her shoulder. She hit the man's arm irritably. Even so, the punch felt soft in Aiden's hand.
