Chapter 46：An Assistant (1/2)

Their dinner was decorated with an unpleasant atmosphere. After the previous incident, of course they all had no appetite. Anya only played with the spoon without feeding the food into her mouth.

Harris also didn't join them that night because he wanted to immediately investigate what happened. Although Hana told him to eat first, he decided to go straight away.

After dinner, Anya and Aiden sat in the living room relaxing. Anya continued reading the book. The television in the room remained on, broadcasting the latest news. Her voice seemed to help blanket the silence in the house. Meanwhile, Aiden closed his eyes while listening to the news from the television.

Suddenly, Anya's phone rang

Anya was shocked to hear the call. Who just suddenly called her? Was that her father?

”Why don't you pick it up?” Aiden asked. He felt a little annoyed by the sound of the call. Either he was disturbed by the sound of the call or because someone called Anya.

”I'll take the call first.” Anya answered. She was about to get up and take the call elsewhere so as not to disturb Aiden. However, before Anya could stand up, Aiden said while still closing his eyes, ”Just do it here.”

Hearing this, Anya sat back down and picked up the phone.

”Hello.” She opened.

”Good evening, is this really Anya Tedjasukmana?” A stranger's voice came from the other end of the line.

”Yes, true. To whom am I speaking?” Anya asked.

”We're from Rose Scent. We've seen the resume you submitted. Do you really want to apply for a job as a perfumer assistant at our shop? Please come to our shop tomorrow morning at 10 am for a job interview.” Said the man on the other end of the phone.

Anya felt very happy when she received the call. How could she not be happy when she got the chance to become a perfumer assistant where she wanted to be.

But the joy lasted only a moment. Anya immediately remembered her promise with Aiden. Tomorrow they would be on a date. Would it anger Aiden if she suddenly canceled it?

But she wanted this job so badly! What should she do?

”Hello? Anya? Can you come tomorrow?” The man asked again.

Anya glanced at Aiden who sat beside her. The man had already opened his eyes. He was holding his teacup and his gaze was not on Anya. The man was staring out the window and the look in his eyes was completely unreadable. Even so, Anya knew that Aiden was listening to her conversation.

In the end, Anya decided to answer. She couldn't pass up this opportunity. ”Yes! I will come tomorrow. Thank you!” She must not turn down this very rare job interview opportunity.

Aiden frowned when he heard Anya answer the phone. It seemed that his wife would cancel the date with him.

Anya glanced again at Aiden and held the man's hand. ”Aiden… Can we go pick flowers during the day? At night I will make Osmanthus cake and juice for you.”

”The day is too hot to pick flowers.” He replied sourly. Tomorrow was their first date!

Anya looked a little disappointed to hear Aiden's answer. Her face looked a little sad, ”I really want this job. I've been applying for a job as a perfumer assistant at Rose since the start of the semester break. They told me to come for a job interview at 10 tomorrow. I don't want to miss this.” Anya said in a sad tone.

Her hand was still gently holding Aiden's. She would try to keep on persuading Aiden until she succeeded!

Aiden glanced at the woman beside him and said coldly, ”Why don't you propose at Amore? Why do you prefer Rose over Amore?”
