Chapter 20：Help (1/2)

”What's the matter with suddenly looking for me?” Anya asked frankly. She no longer wanted to make small talk with Deny.

”Father needs your help. I heard that now you are close to Aiden Atmajaya.” said Deny.

Anya was outraged. It turned out that this was the reason her father was looking for her!

Deny didn't even ask how she was, or how her mother was doing. He only came after hearing the news that Anya had a relationship with Aiden.

”Dad's company is in bad shape. Dad needs help. Can you ask Aiden to cooperate with dad's company?” He begged. Deny knew that Anya was an innocent girl and his daughter loved him so much. If he met her face to face, asking for help face to face with him, Anya would surely melt and be willing to help him. Unfortunately for him, Anya was not that stupid.

”I can't help father.” said Anya firmly.

Deny was stunned when he heard Anya's answer. He did not think Anya would refuse his request. He thought, with just a little pitiful look, his daughter would be willing to help him.

”Why can't you? You're close to Aiden.” Deny tried to remain patient. He inhaled and exhaled slowly, as if holding back the anger that was about to overflow from his heart.

”I have nothing to do with Aiden's work. If you need help, you can come directly to his office yourself. Don't look for me!” Anya answered.

”But you are his lover. If you ask Aiden, surely Aiden will want to help you.” Deny tried to convince her once again. It felt like his anger was on the edge and about to overflow. His hands were clenched tightly into fists, showing his veins.

Anya could see that her father was angry, but she couldn't do anything. Even though she didn't feel annoyed at her father, her status as Aiden's wife might only be temporary. Plus, she owed Aiden a debt. How could she ask Aiden for help like this?

”I can't, Dad. I really can't interfere in Aiden's work affairs.” Anya's tone softened. She tried to explain that it wasn't that she didn't want to help her father, but because she really couldn't.

”Then, can you give your land for interest so that your father's company doesn't go bankrupt?” Deny tried to negotiate with her. Deny knew that Diana still had a land for her flower garden and that land was quite important. If he couldn't find cooperation with the Atmajaya Family, that land alone would be enough to help him with his work.

Anya looked at her father in disbelief, ”Father! The land belongs to the mother!” She raised her voice a little. She felt her father really had the heart. When her mother fell ill, her father refused to help. But at times like this, her father asked for land that belonged to her mother.

Deny didn't like the tone of her daughter's voice, but right now he really needed help. He restrained himself from bursting into anger and tried to persuade Anya.

”Yes, I know. But now your father really needs it.” Deny said, trying to look apologetic and begged Anya.

Seeing her father's current condition, Anya honestly felt sorry. All this time, she had known her father as a firm and authoritative figure. She never saw her father begging like this. Still, the land was part of her dream. She needed the land to fulfill her dream of becoming a perfumer.

”Dad, it's not like I don't want to help.” Anya sounded very uncertain. She tried to explain that the two things Deny asked for were beyond her limits.

She couldn't ask Aiden for help anymore because she owed him a lot. It's the same as not knowing your place if she asked for his help again. Moreover, she knew that the money needed by his father was not small.

She just couldn't give up her mother's land. She needed the land to make a living. She needed it to achieve her goals.

Maybe, if she explained carefully, her father would understand.
