Nian Zhen opened her mouth slowly and said, ”I'll be going then.”

She didn't want to leave him with this lowly actress, but he had already dismissed her. Nian Zhen didn't want to show him her selfish side, so she had to reluctantly agree. Anyway, it wouldn't be long before that trash would disappear.

Hui Yin gave her a friendly smile.

”Miss Nian, maybe I could accompany you back? I'll call driver Cheng.”

But Lu Shen said blandly, ”No need. Cheng is already waiting for her outside. You just need to get dressed.”

Then his arm scooped her from behind the knees and carried her like a child as he stood up. Realizing that he was not giving her a chance to weasel out of it, Hui Yin faked a great yawn.

”Oof...hubby, I'm so tired. Can't I just sleep instead? Let's do our date next time.”

But at the next moment, she felt the arm supporting her give way, and she started to fall.

”Ah?!” she yelled.

She flailed her limbs in desperation, bracing herself for the hard impact. But a familiar softness cushioned her body instead.

Hui Yin slowly opened one eye, then the other.

What! What is this?

She had fallen into the sofa!

As Hui Yin was about to let out a silent sigh of relief, she glanced up and saw Lu Shen watching her with a grim expression.

”Such a loud scream for someone about to fall asleep.”
