97 The People Responsible Will Pay (2/2)

”Mhm…”

”Carson was able to piece together who was behind the incident. He's been investigating and gathered all the city's camera footage and noticed the same car which caused the accident, had been following sis for a while. All they did was change their license plates every other day.”

”So, what about the footage from the accident?” Alex asked inquiringly.

”It was difficult to salvage the footage because of the damage to the back of the vehicle, but I got the driver. I already did a background check on him. He has a daughter who recently started college. I'm guessing someone paid him since he has never committed a crime. We don't know who is behind it yet, because he only drove the car on the day of the accident. There was someone else following her. Don't know if they were partners or if the woman following her was the one behind it all. I think I know who's behind the accident. But, I want to be certain before I call out any names or accuse anyone.” Carson was the one who replied this time.

Alex became angry and wanted to beat someone to death but for her sake, he tried to control his anger. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists as he listened to what Carson had been saying. Deep down he thought that Talia was responsible but after hearing what Carson said, there were more persons involved. He combed his hand through his hair, then spoke calmly.

”Thank you, Carson, you're better at this than I imagined. We need to find out who hired him and who this other woman is. Let us know who the moment you find out. I'll send someone to talk to the driver and his daughter.”

After they each spoke about what was going to be done next, Carson called his driver and left whilst Eyan stayed behind.

”Are you okay bro?” Eyan asked him when it was just them.

”Yes…”

”Don't stress too much. We will definitely get whoever is behind all this.” Eyan pledged confidently and walked toward the bed.

Alex observed him as he walked over to where Zunnie laid but said nothing. He saw the sadness in his brother in laws eyes as he stroked his sister's cheeks and felt his heart tug.

”I'll give you a minute alone; I'm right outside if you need something.” He excused himself and left Eyan alone with her.

Alex knew he was hurting deeply. Even though he joked around and people probably thought that he didn't care, Alex knew he did. He had been working late every day trying to find who was responsible. Standing outside the room, Alex could hear what he was saying clearly.

”Hey sis, it's me. Your big brother Eyan. You remember me, right? I've been doing as good as I can. Sis, I miss you. I miss your random calls and the dinner dates at the manor. Dad misses you too. He's lost a lot of weight and I'm scared he won't be able to hold on longer, so please wake up. I promised you I would find who did this and I'm almost there. You're going to be late for work, so wake up.”

Alex heard him chuckled; then silence filled the room.
