44 First date... (1/2)
”Punya, look there” he said pointing at the peacock which sat on a tree branch.
”Wow it is so beautiful, I haven't seen peacock from so near. Have you domesticated that too?” she asked gazing at the peacock.
There was no response for almost a minute, she turned back and she saw chilly standing there.
”Hi baby” said Punya.
”I hate you” said Chilly.
”Why”
”You said that to Prakruth right?”
”Yeah long back... Not now”
”So now you like him?” chilly asked.
Punya just chuckled. ”Come he told me to bring you after 10 minutes” said chilly.
”Where is he?” she asked.
”In the house...” chilly held her hand and took her to the farm house.
”Go in, I'll come later” said chilly and ran away.
As Punya stepped in, white pigeons flew across the door. She took a step back but didn't step in. She was surprised by the ambience of the house, It had a big square hall with huge round pillars surrounding a center small square pond. There was no ceiling above the pond, it was open. Plants were hanging from the edge of the ceiling over the pond on all the four sides, they had colorful flowers. The pond had colored fishes. As she lifted her leg to step in, Prakruth brought a plate which had red colored water in it.
He said ”step in this and then step on this sheet here. Right foot.”
She followed the instructions and came in, he took the paper with printed step and kept it on the side table. He asked ”Can I lift you?”
”Yes but why” she was standing on the foot mat.
He chuckled and lifted her in his arms. Sitting at the edge of pond, he let her legs dip in water. She giggled as water trickled her feet. Then he landed her on a soft foot mat.
”Come.... This way. Light the lamp” he said showing a lamp in front of a photo.
She gave a curious look.
”My grandparents, only people who used to love me” he sighed.
She lit the lamp and closed her eyes to pray. When she opened her eyes, he had a large bouquet of white roses in his hand. Each rose had her name inscribed on a small heart made up of red velvet cloth in the center.
”Such a huge bouquet, it might have around five to six hundred flowers” exclaimed Punya.
”One thousand exactly” he said.
”Oh my God” she exclaimed.
”When my Punya loves me for more than thousand years shouldn't I tell her that how much I do?” he asked.
”You do what?” she raised her eyebrows.
He went on his knees ”Ms. Punya Varun, thank you for accepting me and filling my life with your unconditional love. I promise to love you more than you do till the end of my breath, this birth and several births thereafter. Will you do the honor of being my soul mate forever??” he asked.
”Yes” said Punya as her eyes welled up.
