9 Chapter 9 - Celebrate (1/2)
The next morning the first thing I did was look for the card that Mr. Davis gave me. I took a deep breath before calling the number. I started thinking of the words I should say to him. I was very nervous and my hand was shaking so badly.
”Hello... Uhmm... is this Mr. Davis?”
”Speaking...”
”Mr. Davis this is Angelique... Good morning...”
”Angelique my dear morning...”
”Anyways, Mr. Davis regarding your offer...”
”I see you so you have though about it.” The way he responded sounded like he was disappointed. I have not even said a word but I can feel the depress aura from the other end. ”Its fine...”
Wait whats going on, how come he sound so depress.
”Wait Mr. Davis let me explain...”
”My dear, it alright. When you were in the hospital your boss briefly told me about you and I can see why you were so tense about this. I was even shock to see that it made you faint.”
”Huh?”
”I know this is a risky path and your too afraid of it so I wont force you at all.”
”Wait... Mr. Davis I called you to tell you I'll do it.”
I did not hear any responded from him at all. At the same time at heard as if the phone fell on the ground.
”Hello... Mr. Davis... Mr.Davis...”
”Yes, I'm here...”
”Are you alright?”
”Everything is great...” he responded with a cheerful voice. I can understand for all the sudden excitement from the start he thought I would reject his offer based on my boss story. ”Alright then, if your free tomorrow please visit my office. I'll start the contract, at the same time I'll arrange the best song writers for you as well. I'll make sure before the year end you'll be number 1.”
”Mr. Davis aren't you think to high of me.”
”Not too high enough, I know you will be a big star. Just trust me as your manager. I'll make sure everything will be a smooth journey.”
”If you say so, then I'll see you tomorrow Mr. Davis.”
”Well then see you tomorrow.” as he ended the call the huge burden I was feel vanished. Finally, I got that over with now I just need to see how it goes.
I send a message to my Ma and my friendsinforming them of my plans. She was happy to hear about it and told me to just follow my dream. Actually, I never dreamt of being in the entertainment industry. All I wish was a simple career and a good life. Soon after I also received messages from Jordon and Jamie, both of them were happy for me. They asked if I was busy tonight and invited me to dinner to celebrate my new career.
Since it was Sunday today I have an important task to do which was finish the script for my novel. I've started this novel since I was 19. Only Jamie and my editor have read it. I've only submitted one of my few works. The books has not yet been published since I have to re-write some of them.
I actually started writting this novel not because I love to write but to prove my mother wrong.When I was in high school, I was a bit better than his son. I've received certificates and awards all the time from different achievements. One day I asked her help to read the essay for one of my English report. Her comments then broke my heart and since then I hated writing. I even failed my English exam and had to retake it. So I decide then that I'll be a writer and one day if I'm able to publish my work and be famous I'll show her that she's wrong then.
