31 Back to School (1/2)

”Did you just got home? It's already pretty late.”, Dana asked over the phone.

”Yeah, actually, you called at a perfect time. Why'd you called when its pretty late?”, Rin asked since it's pretty weird.

”… Just wanted to say goodnight, I guess..?”, Dana weakly answered.

Upon hearing this, Rin was hit by a sudden jolt. He wanted to cry, 'God! I want to hug her right now!', he clenched his fist.

”Is that weird?”, Dana worried.

”No! Of course not!”, Rin panicked.

”Really? Then goodnight.”, Dana mutely laugh at the other side of the phone.

Rin smiled, ”Goodnight…”, then he heard hummed before she hung up the phone, Click*

Rin looked above the ceiling as if it was far away. His face filled with emotions, ”God… do I deserve such happiness?”, then his face formed a smile ear to ear and he ran to his bedroom then jumped into the bed and hugged a pillow. ”Dana~!”

Next morning…. Rin woke up exactly 6:00 in the morning. He have one hour to prepare to school. Instead of drowsiness, Rin woke up with energy. He immediately went into the bath for a shower.

After the bath, he looked at himself reflected on the mirror. Without a doubt, his body toned much better. But he didn't have time to admire himself since first, he have no idea how to admire himself, this is the first time that he felt that way to himself, ”Is this confidence Master was talking about?”, he asked himself on the mirror and second he have to prepare his own breakfast.

Fortunately, he bought bread and chocolate fillings but he have to get into clothes first. After he changed, he went to the kitchen the groceries he bought are still all bagged.

”Oh yeah, I forgot to organized them in place…”, he search for the bread and the chocolate filling and quickly made a sandwich. To not to take much time, he only ate one.

After that he got everything ready, Rin look into his wallet. He then realized something, 'Wait, what happened to Mom, now? I wasn't able to got back for three weeks because so many things happened but no one is available to take care of her.', Rin saddened and thought, 'I really am a failure of a son.'

”I should visit that hospital again later. I even spend her money and I forgot her. Such foolness… I was too overwhelmed by these new feelings.”, Rin clutched his chest for moment but he shook his head and said, ”No, what am I doing? I already changed, I should be optimistic… think of something that will make you happy. Think of something that will make you happy.”, Dana's cutely angry face flashed his mind then his mouth formed that kind of smile again.”

[Mom, sorry for being selfish, but I think I will fulfill your wish, continue to change myself, and go forward even after you are gone. What will you say if you are here? When I become the man you wanted to be? But you are already gone and I failed to make you proud when you are still here. But even so, I will live for myself!]

Rin reached the front gate of the school. Many students were passing and entering the school. He went in normally.

'Strange, nobody was even looking at me. Before, they would look at me with disdain and disgust. Did they forgot who I am?', Rin asked himself but he did not worry that much.

Only when he entered his classroom did he caught the eye of his classmates.
