”Get out! Get out from this house, you imbecile son! After you finish your university, you will go straight to the military whether you like it or not!” His father shouted at Stevan.
Laughing mockingly, Stevan argued back, ”Hey, I went to military school already just like you ordered me! But it doesn't mean I want to be a soldier like you!”
His father hit him, he fell to the ground, grunting he looked at his father from above. Behind his father, his mother looked at Stevan sharply, she made a silent mouth gesture, 'I told you so.'
Creasing his brows, 'Damn that woman!' Stevan twitted inwardly. He heard his father saying, ”I will confiscate your computer! Do you expect me to be proud of you? Your score below from excellent whether in military school or high school! Do you think 'B' is good enough?! Looked at your friend Han! He was an outstanding soldier and S class student in high school! Why can't you become like him?! How can I raise a stupid son like you!”
Stevan growled annoyingly when he heard Han's name. Another day of comparing him and Han again. But this time, this old man went too far. He intercepted fast, ”Then take him as your son!! Do you think I want to be born as your child?! If you don't like me to become like this, so fu*k off!! I'm not him! Do you think I didn't try hard enough to live up your expectation?! I did! Plenty of times! But what did you do? Where are you when I need you?! Or her!” He pointed to his mother direction.
She was startled. Stevan smirked and continued, ”That woman there torture me many times when you weren't at home! Every time I failed, she would make me suffered! What kind of feeling do you think I feel at such a young age? I endured all of this since I was a kid!! Until now, she and I always keep it secret from you! But I couldn't take it anymore, if you want to kick me out I will be happy to open all of her wrongdoing!”
”NO!!” She screamed depressingly.
Stevan laughed victory, the mouse took the bait, ”See, she admits herself that she did something to me. If you didn't believe the truth you can see this!!” Stevan opened his shirt and showed his father his old and new bruises. His father was shocked by the ugly sight.
He turned his head and looked at his wife who was hiding behind the sofa. He could hear her voice mumbled, ”I'm sorry...I'm sorry.” His father feeling was complex, headache, he didn't know what to respond. Silence broke between them.
In the end, Stevan who talked first, he requested with a firm tone, ”I will leave the house and stay at my apartment until my studies are over. I will go the military as you said, but it one condition, don't interfere with my matters anymore. We are a family in name only. I don't need you two as my parents.”
”Stevan!! Don't talk back to me!! I'm not done yet, we need to talk!”
”Our conversation is over. Don't try to act like a good father now, what 'talk'? You've never been reasonable to your son and your wife. Look what you've done to that woman and then me. As I said, stay away from my life, if you want me to continue this family!” His words let his father stood rigidly.
Stevan held his hurtful cheek and went upstairs, before he did that he said one thing to his father, ”Maybe you didn't read the news, but Han was dropped out from the school because he involved himself with the delinquent incident. Do you think he's still the perfect son you want, huh?” He sneered, striding his legs and left Stevan's father speechless.
While climbing the stair, Stevan could hear broken glass, the two monkeys behind him were smashing things. He also overheard a woman screaming and a man shouting. Stevan kept his face indifferent, preparing his important stuff, leaving this freaking damn house. He had enough living with his incongruity family.
Back then when Han was still hanging out with him in high school, Han came to his house a few times to play, he witnessed his parents favored Han more than him, they praised him as a strong, smart, and disciplined boy. Scoffing, they never said those flower words to their 'real' son before.
The only thing Stevan got was their scolding and high-value expectation which he must succeed, yet it left them disappointed. Since then his parents always comparing him to Han.
Why he must listen to this baloney all the time? It wasn't fair, it wasn't fair!! This life wasn't fair!!
Stop. He knew already. His animosity to Han was growing rapidly.

Stevan didn't expect that he would meet Han again in the university. He was slightly surprised, an irritated feeling came, he changed his dark mask to his usual smile. Laura felt awkward when she met Han again, while Stevan tried his best acting like 'friends finally reuniting together'.
Instead of the good response, Han gave them a new feeling. It was quite different. How should Stevan say? Han didn't show his childish expression to them again, instead, he became the usual scary and cold Han. Stevan was wondering what happened?
In university, Laura once again strikes Han with her confession, yet followed by another rejection constantly. Stevan looked at her changing demeanor, she became a daring, brazen girl. Stevan saw her plenty times playing with a lot of boys.
She became sl*tish. He felt this was too absurd, why she became like this? She even asked Stevan to ask had s*x with her again, not once, but every time they were alone, she didn't even shy when she requested it.
Persevering, loving her, giving his best to make her love him back. Could this be the start of her changing heart? No. In truth, Stevan knew that she imagined Han's image when she did it with him. He was just one of her toys. He felt exhausted, he wanted to hate her, yet he couldn't fully do that. She didn't consider him one bit, she was having fun in her own world. Eventually, he blamed Han for Laura behavior.
