Chapter 664 - Returned (1/2)
Twenty minutes later, Xian Guiying walked to Square Street. The doors of her shop were closed, but the hawkers around her were still hawking various things as usual.
She walked over and opened the shop's door. She stuffed the handmade items hanging on the wall into a cardboard box and heard the young girl's voice from the silver jewelry store on the other side. ”Sister Xian, how many days has it been since your shop closed? I thought something had happened to you! Are you going to open the shop today?”
Xian Guiying looked at the enthusiastic girl through the doorway and smiled at her. ”No. I will close the shop.”
”Ah? Sister Xian, you won't open the shop here anymore?”
Opening shop?
Mrs. Qin had caused a commotion here the other day, so the shop could no longer be open.
The whispers among the neighbors, as well as their unusual gazes. Even if she didn't care, her mood wouldn't be too good after facing all this for so long. Since she didn't feel like continuing to open the shop here, then why bother it anymore?
Xian Guiying was not the kind of person who would make things difficult for herself. Life wasn't easy to begin with, so there was no need to make things difficult for herself.
As she packed her things, she replied with a smile. ”Mmm, I won't open it again.”
The young girl looked at her with a sad expression, as if she was not used to parting with other people.
But life was like this, often one didn't be here for too long. Whether it's love, habit, good relationship, or loathing, it was just a passing cloud and when you leave, all of this was just the past.
When she finished putting all the items in the cardboard box and about to call the moving workers she had hired to come and take them out, the shop's door opened slightly.
Wei Zhengsheng came in and saw that part of the shop was covered with dust. Xian Guiying's face was also smeared with black dust. ”Didn't I say that I would come to help you?”
”It's fine. I had nothing to do, so I came to clean it. It's better to clean it early. There's no need to drag it out any longer.” Xian Guiying smiled as she wiped the dust on her cheek with her sleeves. She then looked around the small shop and sighed.
”This can be considered the first shop in my life that belongs to me. Although small, it also gave me a lot of satisfaction.” As she spoke, she gently wiped the dust off the table next to her with her fingers. ”I'm more reluctant to leave it than when I first left Xian Enterprise.”
”If you like, we can invest and open a few more branches. Not only in Wuyuan, we can go to Lijiang or anyplace you like.” Wei Zhengsheng bent down and took the cardboard box from the ground. ”Go rest. Leave the rest to me. The moving workers will come later.”
Xian Guiying didn't reject his help. Instead, she sat down on a wooden bench. Her mind flashed back to Mrs. Qin's words that day in front of the shop.
She did not blame Mrs. Qin for damaging the reputation of the shop, she could only blame herself. Maybe it's her own fault.
”I plan to book a plane ticket tomorrow. What about Qianqian's health? If she's not in good health, I can wait for a few more days.” Wei Zhengsheng asked once he entered the shop after sending the box out.
Xian Guiying didn't say anything. She just looked outside the shop, at the hawkers on the street.
”My brother's wedding will be held in two months, and no matter what, I will definitely come back. I'm still considering whether to go or not.” She stood up.
