Xian Guiying looked at him and instead of taking the flashlight, she wrapped her hand around his, then smiled lightly before saying, ”The food is getting cold.”

Seeing the indifferent look in Wei Zhengsheng's eyes, her grip on his arm tightened. ”You know, I'm not that kind of woman. I wouldn't use your kindness just to take revenge on him.  If I did it because of him, I would have done it outside the building.”

Wei Zhengsheng chuckled, ”I'm not doubting your motives.” After saying that, he took her hand and held it tightly, slowly leading her to the first stairs. As they walked, he asked softly, ”When did you go downstairs?”

”After you came down, I sensed something was wrong, so I followed you to see it.”

”Oh? How much did you hear?”

”Seventy to eighty percent.” Xian Guiying's tone was bland and there was no emotion in them. In the darkness of the corridor, it's hard to see her expression.

Fearing that Qin Wenqian would be scared if she didn't see her mother when she woke up, Wei Shanyuan immediately went to her room to take care of the child first. When he heard the sound of the door opening, he got up and walked out.

”Yo!”

Seeing that the two people who had just come out were holding hands, Wei Shanyuan's voice became sour. ”What did you guys do downstairs? Why when you two came back, the way the both of you looked at each other changed? What did I miss?”

Xian Guiying was initially quite open and felt that she should do whatever she wanted because she already knew it. She had no intention of being shy about it, but in the end, her face still turned pink because of Wei Shanyuan's teasing.

It had been years since she had this nostalgic blushing. It was so nostalgic.

”Is this how you talk to your cousin?” Wei Zhengsheng glanced at Wei Shanyuan nonchalantly. ”Let's eat.”

”Tsk tsk tsk tsk, this speed is faster than I thought ... I really didn't expect it would be this fast.” Wei Shanyuan whistled, went to get the red wine.

Hearing his words, Wei Zhengsheng stopped. Xian Guiying also bit her lip. They both said nothing and she immediately took her hand away from him and ran to get glasses with a hot face.

Just as the three of them sat at the dining table, they heard the door of the house opposite of them slammed heavily.

”Who was it?! Why'd he closed the door so loudly? Aren't they afraid of scaring a sleeping child!” Wei Shanyuan frowned as he poured a glass of wine to himself.

”The owner of the house went abroad for half a year ago and it was said that the house was put on rent. I don't know if the house was rented out or not, but no one has been inside the house for the past six months.” Xian Guiying said.

”Recently rented?” Wei Zhengsheng looked at her. His voice was calm, not a single ripple could be heard.

”Probably. Usually, I do not hear much. Today is the first time I hear the door close. It sounds like the neighbor has a quite temper.”

Wei Zhengsheng, who was about to raise a glass of wine to his mouth, abruptly stopped. He raised his head and looked at Wei Shanyuan, who also stopped.

Seeing them both acting weird, Xian Guiying at first didn't think anything. However, after seeing their expressions, she could not help but feel worried. ”What's wrong?”

”Could it be ...” Wei Shanyuan put down his glass while looking at Wei Zhengsheng, who also put down his wine glass, before looking at Xian Guiying.

”Maybe.” Wei Zhengsheng nodded lightly but didn't say much.
