Chapter 353 - Are You Hiding Something From Me? (1/2)

Jiang Ruolan lowered her head without saying a word. She casually used the back of her hand to wipe away the tears, and then as she was about to wipe the other side, Xian Zihao pulled her hand away. With one hand holding her hand, and the other hand wiping away her tears, he stroked her face and said patiently, ”Alright, stop crying. It is not good for your body.”

If he hadn't suddenly arrived, perhaps Jiang Ruolan would have just been sitting there in a daze until tomorrow morning. The warmth of his body made her unable to control her emotions and shed tears. Jiang Ruolan snorted and chuckled, while at the same time, shaking her head, ”It's nothing. I was reminded of something and somehow a little sad.”

Xian Zihao looked at her quietly. He pushed her hair behind her ear and said nothing. He only just looked at her.

Jiang Ruolan knew that she could not hide this matter from him. Normally, she rarely cried because she knew that no matter what happened, crying will not solve anything. But now, there were too many emotions in her heart, making it hard for her to calm down, thus she could only rely on tears to vent her feelings.

Jiang Ruolan didn't want to make Xian Zihao worried, so she hesitated before saying, ”I'm fine, really. Don't worry about me.”

Xian Zihao turned around and looked directly at Xiaoyi on the opposite bed. Xiaoyi was tired of playing with the two dolls after Senior Zhou left, so she got up and stepped onto the bench to see Little Goldfish on the window sill. Less than a few minutes before Xian Zihao arrived, she climbed into her bed again.

”Xiaoyi, do you know what happened to auntie?” Xian Zihao asked with a smile.

Jiang Ruolan was embarrassed. That little girl had become one of his informants in this ward.

Xiaoyi immediately sat up, hugged her blanket, and blinked her eyes as she said, ”Daddy, just now, great-grandfather came to deliver Xiaoyi's doll, and then great-grandfather kept talking to Auntie Jiang. Afterward, when Uncle Doctor asked Auntie Jiang to go for check-up, great grandfather left, but great-grandfather didn't bully Auntie Jiang! I didn't listen to them because my great-grandfather's voice was very soft. I don't know why she cries!”

”Senior Zhou came before?” Xian Zihao's expression darkened. His clear and handsome face was filled with seriousness. He looked at Jiang Ruolan and asked, ”What did he say?”

Jiang Ruolan lowered her head and held the tissue in her hand, squeezing it tighter. She took a deep breath. No sense in hiding this matter from him because sooner or later, he will know. ”Zihao, do you really know your mother?”

Xian Zihao looked at her with a soft smile. ”Mom is a smart person who is good at feigning ignorance. No matter how much I know about her, she is still my own mother. Although we are connected in heart, there are still some aspects where we might not agree.”

Jiang Ruolan shook her head slowly. ”You still know her well. You know what she looks like, but I don't. I don't know my mother's background nor I know her personality. In my mind, she is just a vague memory, but it's very important to me to know about her. So far I can only hear and know about her from other people's mouths. I can't even tell if she is real or fake.”

”I have never been able to understand it to this day. She is a very great person and even has the capital to overcome Zhan Lian and fight over everything she wants. So why must she end her life by committing suicide? Just how much did she hate this world?”

Seeing her eyes filled with suffering, Xian Zihao's heart ached. He gently and carefully pressed the back of her head to his chest and said, ”You and I cannot predict or control the events of the previous generation. As long as you are willing to let go of everything, you don't have to take it too seriously.”

Xian Zihao seemed to be able to guess what had happened to Jiang Ruolan before she spoke, and when he looked at her, he looked at her with a soft smile.

Seeing his calm and attentive expression, Jiang Ruolan couldn't help but ask, ”Are you hiding something from me?”
