Chapter 257 - I Shouldn’t Put My Expectation On You IV (1/2)
Qin Gengxin looked at her in silence. When the smile on Jiang Ruolan's face widened, he frowned. ”Jiang Ruolan.”
Jiang Ruolan took a deep breath. Actually, she knew that if she had even the slightest bit of self-awareness, she would never come here and be a laughingstock. However, they had already reached such a stage. Leaving and advancing both bear the same result. Even if she only had 1 point left in her Qi and blood after her final loss, she still wanted to wait for the announcement of victory before retreating.
”Ruolan, Zihao might really be in a hurry. Why don't we ask Assistant Bai if there's an emergency in the office? Maybe something happened at the company, and he had to rush over there.” Old Man Xian walked toward her using his walking stick. He looked at Jiang Ruolan, who was calm and had her back straightened. ”Don't be hasty in making a decision, child.”
Then the Old Man's gaze suddenly fell on Jiang Yijun, he looked at him fixedly. Xian Jian also walked slowly, his eyes not shifting from Jiang Yijun's face from beginning to end.
”Jiang Ruolan, it's still not too late to regret.” Jiang Yijun stood in front of her and frowned slightly. ”Just say the words. I'll take you away.”
Qin Gengxin was stunned for a moment. He glanced at Jiang Yijun's expression as if he had just realized something.
However, Jiang Ruolan merely smiled and stretched out her hand towards Qin Gengxin. ”Lend me your car keys.”
Qin Gengxin hesitated. ”Let's wait a little longer. I believe Zihao will arrive soon.”
Jiang Ruolan kept smiling at him. ”Lend me the car keys.”
”Ruolan!”
”Lend it to me.” She insisted, still smiling.
Qin Gengxin frowned and slowly placed a black electronic car key into her hand.
”Ruolan, what are you doing? Do you know where Zihao is?” Zhan An looked at her worriedly.
Jiang Ruolan only paused for a moment, looking at Qin Gengxin indifferently as if no one else was present. ”Which hotel did Zhou Shufen stay at?”
The moment she asked this question, everyone looked at her with different expressions. At this moment, Jiang Ruolan didn't have the time to pay attention to them anymore. She only kept looking at Qin Gengxin's slightly opened mouth.
Finally, he gave her an address.
Jiang Ruolan smiled at him. She left the room and walked into the elevator while everyone else was trying to stop her.
”Ruolan.”
It was a fine, sunny day, and the winter sun was shining through the sparse foliage along the road. The road was dark and uncertain, and driving through it was like passing through a tunnel of time.
The figure in front of the Jiang Family seven years ago to the man who covered her with a blanket and called her fiancée in his hotel room half a year ago, to that night when he hugged her gently and patiently and slowly sang ”Southern Mountains Memories” for her, everything slowly playing in Jiang Ruolan's mind.
After a while, she stopped in front of a hotel called The Emperor's Garden.
When she got out of the car, her wedding gown's hem was too heavy, so she bent over and tied it with a knot. She removed the car keys and walked straight to the hotel through a myriad of views, ignoring the hotel staff, and everyone's surprised gazes as she took the elevator to the floor mentioned by Qin Gengxin.
Since ancient times, the most helpless thing for a woman was to catch her husband with another woman. Once, she didn't understand why women were so pitiful. Years later, when she looked around on the top floor of the hotel, she finally understood.
It was only because Jiang Ruolan had fallen in love with Xian Zihao.
