79 Was She Always Like That? (1/2)
Our return back to the ballroom caused quite a scene, mostly due to the jaw-dropping beauty that Muria and Irina exhibited. Us three guys were simply overshadowed by them as all eyes seemed to be on them as we entered the silent ballroom where everyone had stopped what they were doing to admire the two girls.
As she walked, Muria kept her head low from embarrassment and she kept a hand over her chest, hoping that it'll block out the perverted gazes from some of the male students. That concern was totally justified, but what she didn't know was that by trying to cover it up, she simply drew more attention there.
When I was simply looking around, I spotted a boy taking out their phone and pointing it in Muria's direction. He was about to take a picture of her, and I was certain that Muria wouldn't want her picture taken in that outfit she had on. Therefore, without further thought, I sped up my pace until I was walking close in front of her. This way, I could cover her chest from the perverted gazes that was thrown in her direction.
”Thank you,” Muria muttered in an embarrassed voice.
As if learning from my actions, Loyd and Zaksus then formed a triangle with me using our bodies and surrounded the two girls. This way, we could prevent any individuals with ulterior motives from taking pictures.
”If you're that embarrassed then don't wear it,” I whispered to Muria without turning to look at her while continuing to lead the group to a corner where we could relax.
”Right,” Irina added as she comforted Muria. ”You could've asked for something less revealing.”
”...” Muria remained silent, probably regretting her decision.
”You want to head back and change?” Loyd asked.
”It's fine,” Muria said.
We then arrived in the far corner of the ballroom, away from the crowd. Once we arrived here, everything returned to normal once again with everybody resuming what they were doing before our arrival. They chatted among themselves while enjoying the delicious looking food and drinks.
”Looks like you two really stole the spotlight,” Zaksus sighed and said in a joking manner.
”So what do you guys wanna do now?” Loyd asked.
”You guys can go and do your thing,” I said, taking a seat on the cushioned benches set against the wall. ”I'll just stay here.”
”Alev...” Loyd sighed. ”You gotta be more social.”
”To hell with that,” I simply barked back.
”Fine,” Loyd said as he finally accepted his defeat. ”Then you guys wanna walk around and get some food?” He said to the remaining four.
”I-I think I'll stay here as well,” Muria said in a shy manner as she kept her head down.
”Then it's the three of us?” Loyd confirmed with the remaining two.
”Let's go already,” Zaksus said with a slight frustration in his voice since he had been excited for this event before we even arrived, and now after spending about forty-five minutes changing, he's ready to enjoy himself.
”If you need anything just call,” Loyd said as he walked away with Zaksus and Irina.
As they walked away, I noticed Irina looking over her shoulder at Muria and I. In her eyes there was a hint of reluctance mixed with concern. Her steps seemed a bit slower than usual, and it's probably not because of the heels since she's definitely used to them being a celebrity and all. Therefore, the reason for her odd behavior was a mystery to me. The only hint I have is her longing gaze, but that didn't help much.
The party continued on with music playing in the speakers and creating a lively atmosphere in the room. It would appear that some students had laid there hands on some alcohol and were having fun over there in the center of the ballroom with the liquor. Even though it was technically illegal for us to drink, no one's gonna report this. I won't because it doesn't pertain to me.
I heard a soft sigh escape Muria's mouth as she walked up to me. I looked up from my seat and at that troubled expression on her face. Both her arms were before her chest as she struggled to keep everything concealed and her face was quite red from embarrassment. She opened her mouth slightly as if trying to say something, but she closed it once again soon after and looked to the side in order to avoid eye contact with me.
I kept my eyes fixed on her for the duration of this interaction, trying to figure out what it was that she was after. I noticed the fidgeting of her fingers and that helpless look on her face. Then, I connected that with the fact that she was wearing revealing clothing that she's completely not prepared for. Therefore, I believe I have a descent idea as to how to handle the situation.
I scooted over a bit to my left, creating some space on the cushioned bench by the very corner of the ballroom.
”You wanna sit down?” I asked her with an apathetic voice, hoping that by acting as I usually did, she would feel more comfortable in this embarrassing outfit.
