1 Yenma (1/2)

”It's been 2 years since I graduated and I still can't find any decent work for myself.”, Yenma looked towards the distant starry skies and sighed.

Yenma was never good at academics in the first place. He had somehow made it through his university days and graduated.

He was from the Country of Yitivatsal, which was a small Country located to the north of the Veyal Continent.

His country was popular for its agricultural imports. Yenma had always wanted to be mage or a knight but due to his poor background and below-average high school grades, he could never qualify for even the entrance examination to the mage or knight Universities.

In this World, humans were on top of the food chain but even among humans there was a strict hierarchy.

Humans were given different tiers as per their qualifications/jobs.

Those who were commoners, were classified as Tier 1 citizens. Whereas those who didn't even have jobs were called ”trash”, so currently Yenma was indeed a ”trash”.

Tier 2 citizens were those who were affiliated with government-related jobs. These people had to undergo many rounds of academic examinations to get to their positions.

Tier 3 citizens were also referred to as ”Nobles”. This was in fact not a job but more of a title.

If a person did great deeds for his country or achieved extraordinary military exploits or something of a high value that could help the majority of people as a whole, those people were given Tier 3 citizenship. Such type of citizenship would be carried down one'sfamily-line.

Tier 4 included mages and knights. These people were those who spend years into their training and were the main power behind any country.

Even the weakest mage or knight had a Tier 4 citizenship. One could only imagine their influence.

Tier 5 citizenship was in fact no different than gaining Royalty. Only those of the Royal Family of a Country were able to be classified as Tier 5 ”Royals” and they held immense power.

Originally Yenma hoped to get some job and become a Tier 1 citizen but there was currently a huge economic crisis in the Yitivatsal Country, this left him literally jobless. He only managed to pass his days by using up the inheritance that his parents had left behind.

”Tomorrow for building the Central Grand Mall in the City Square many labourers would be required. This is the biggest project in 5 years, if I sign up for the manual labor I would be able to earn some money at least.”, Yenma spoke to himself as he lay in the park. He had no home and had used up all of his parent's inheritance. If he didn't get a job soon, he would die of hunger.

As Yenma lay on the grass in the park he heard some shrieking sounds coming from his opposite direction.

”Help! Somebody help!”, There was a young girl about 12 years old who was running through the park. Some of her clothing was torn which showed that she was a victim of an assault.

Behind her there was a fat man running after her, he wore round spectacles and his face was filled with pimples.

Soon the little girl who was running tripped over a pebble and fell down, this gave the opportunity for the fat man to catch up to her.
