62 Sacrifices are made in life (2/2)
Madel remained silent during the whole conversation. She was thinking about holding Henry's hands and was not paying attention. In her eyes, she can see the seven lower realms but has never seen the beauty of her home as how humans had seen it. Although she could not see through Francis, he was not able to nullify her ability to see all. She could not hold his hand instead.
”How about you Madel? Would you like to cultivate the same manual as mine?” Henry asked.
Madel seemed preoccupied so he tapped her at her shoulder. The quick pat gave Madel a second to see the beauty of the floating frays. It was magical. She wanted Henry to hold her longer but he quickly withdrew his hands. Soon, the time will come when she must pass on the path of the king (a celestial artifact) to the chosen one. When that day comes, she will not be able to step on to this place that she called home.
”Huh?” Madel asked him with a blank expression.
”Oh never mind.” Henry shook his head.
Cheska held her breath and sighed deeply. She was thinking of telling the palace that she could not marry a prince because it was against her cultivation to be a part of a harem. She needed to decide and she needed to do it fast. Some prince might be pestering her again to become his concubine.
[Concubine?! You wish!!] She gritted her teeth with the thought and strengthened her resolve. Although the manual was difficult to follow, she was willing if she can be closer to Henry and further away from that prince who wants to make her a CONCUBINE.
Living on earth in her past life, her impression of this term was like being a mistress, a third party, home wrecker and immoral.
Once an imperial decree was pronounced it was equal to the laws of heaven, it was unbreakable. If the palace has decreed that she would be married into one of the princes she could not refuse without a solid reason.
Becuse the planet regards cultivation highly and has a rule about respecting any rituals or any acts related to cultivation, the palace could not do anything if her cultivation forbids becoming a part of a harem.
As a successful entrepreneur and household head she knows that the best way to resolve an issue was not to permit it to happen. Prevention is better than cure. In her own principle, she must always be one step ahead with her own competitors.
”Yes, I will do it. I will cultivate this Manual.” She said.
Henry was still focused on Madel when he heard Cheska's response.
”Pardon? I did not seem to hear you”
”I will follow the spiritual cultivation manual.” She said directly.
”Cheska, aren't you thinking about it first?” Helen said.
”Yes, Cheska you do not have to do it if you are not willing” Henry said.
”Don't worry I will be fine.” She said while touching the 18 inches' thick manual. Sacrifices are indeed inevitable in life.
