52 College Reunion 2 (1/2)

”Jillian?” A petite girl with curly auburn hair looked at me curiously. ”Yes it's you Jill!” She hugged me.

I was surprised with the sudden action. I can remember her. She was one of my close friends when I entered college, Christina.

”Oh my gosh. You're really alive.” Christina was rubbing her tears away. ”I saw you on TV but seeing you in person, I really didn't recognize you at all. You are so different when we were in college.”

I remember when I was in my youth I saw myself as an ugly duckling. I was quite nerdy and didn't know how to be fashionable so the clothes I picked didn't match me at all. I really didn't have a mother to help me with shopping and my grandmother was an old fashioned woman so she didn't really help with my looks as well.

I look at Christina acting confused.

”Teena, don't scare her.” Gerald said while walking towards us. ”She doesn't remember you.” he said calmly.

”Oh yes I'm sorry. It was a spur of emotions. I don't mean any offense.” Christina was wiping away her tears.

”None taken.” I give her an awkward smile. I also want to hug her but I have to hold myself. I have to act that I can't remember her.

”Hi Queenie. Long time no see.” Gerald said.

”Hello.” I waved at him. ”Thanks by the way for the food you sent the last time when I got back from the skiing trip. It was delicious.”

”Really? That's great.” Gerald smiled. ”By the way this here is Christina. She's my wife.” Gerald hugged her close to him.
