53 Beginning of the culture festival (1/2)

As soon as I woke up, I was startled by a call,

”Oi, Yuuji! Hurry up! The culture festival is starting soon man!”

”Wha?!?! Wait... How come I didn't notice our classmates do any preparations during the previous week?”

”Uh... They were probably afraid of you man. Anyway, quickly come here!!!”

”Urgh... Fine...”

When I hoisted my body up from the bed, Mio is still clinging on to me. Her sleeping face is very cute and vulnerable. It made me want to stay like this forever. However...

”Sorry, Mio. Your brother has something to do at school. See you at home, okay?”, I whispered those words to her as I used my right hand to pat her head and my left hand to pry her away from me.

Once our bodies were finally separated, Mio curled herself into a ball. As leaving her like that might make her catch a cold, I put my blanket over her as I started to change into my uniform.

”I'm off!”

I said that to no one in particular before I head off to school.

”Heehee~ Nii-sama is going to school to prepare for the culture festival, huh? I better give him a nice surprise!”

A voice muttered to herself as she climbed down from her brother's bed, a smile forming on the corners of her lips.
