38 The Missing Girl Part 2 (2/2)
”Nee~ Yuuji. I-I'm feeling a little unwell.”, said Hanako.
As I turned towards her, it seems that she got seasickness.
”Just hold on a little more, Hanako! We're almost there!”
As I said those words, I held her hand tight to support her. Her skin got paler, and her it could clearly be seen that she is in great discomfort.
”Un! I'll try my best to hold on!”, she said that with the best smile that she could make at the moment.
”I'm sorry for dragging you into this, Hanako. I'm really sorry. But since it seems that my sister just won't accept our relationship no matter what. I'll have to face her and make her accept it. If I'm together with you, I'm certain that things will work out for sure.”
”Yuuji...”, she replied with a soft expression.
After a while, she turned to face me with a resolute look and said,
”Ever since I've told you about my feelings, Yuuji. I've made an oath to myself. No matter where you are and no matter what happens, I will always stay by your side to support you to the end. I'll never leave your side again. So please, don't be sorry, okay? It's a decision that I've also made after all.”
”Hanako...”
It is now my turn to call out her name reflectively. Those resolute looks in her eyes, along with those words of hers really struck the chords of my heartstrings. I couldn't help it and stretched out my right hand to caress her face. A shade of redness started to tint her cheeks. That shy expression of hers really amplifies her natural cuteness. Even though she is shy, she didn't avert her eyes from me.
”Yuuji...”, she said my name as she closed her eyes and moved her face closer to mine. Just as our lips were about to touch, Eiichi-san suddenly spoke up.
”We're here, kiddos!”
””Whoa!!””, we immediately let go of each other when Eiichi-san announced that we've already arrived.
”Ah~ Did I interrupt anything, young lads? Don't mind me! I'm just an old man!”
”T-Thank you, Eiichi-san! L-Let's go, Hanako!”
”O-Okay, Yuuji!”
We both left the boat and hurriedly step onto the mainland after giving Eiichi-san a reply. However, it seems that we couldn't hide our flustered voice, huh...
”Youngster these days...”
As we left the boat, we could hear Eiichi-san mumbling something, but we both pretended that we didn't hear anything. It's just too embarrassing!
However, since Mio is still missing, I do not have the time to be embarrassed anymore... I immediately took out my phone and opened Google Maps. From now on, it's the test of how well I know Mio.
And thus, Hanako and I took our first steps into the mainland in search of Mio.
