18 The Beginning Of A Tale (2/2)

As we finally started to walk away from school, I heard Haruto calling out from behind,

”Hey, Yuuji! I see you're being sandwiched between two beauty as always, eh? It must be good to be you!”

”Good evening, Nii-san, Mio. Pardon my brother's rudeness, I shall reprimand him later on.”

”Hey, Erika?!?! Aren't you being too cruel?!?! I didn't even do anything yet!”

”Haruto, shut up.”, she called her own brother bluntly. So scary... Why am I being surrounded by people who are so scary?

As I was spacing out, Haruto called out to me,

”Oi, Yuuji! Help me! Erika is strangling my neck, you know?!?! Help!”

”That's Erika '-sama' to you, idiot brother. Engrave that into your tiny brain.”

”H-Help!!!”

”Good luck, Haruto.”

I watched the scene unfold in front of me nonchalantly. Ho~ This can be quite entertaining after all!

After suffering a near-death experience, Haruto and Erika are now walking together with us. However, the only strange thing is...

”Ummm... Erika?”

”Yes, Nii-san?”, Erika smiled brightly at me.

”Why did you put a collar on your brother? Don't you think that's it's a little... cruel?”

”Did you say anything, Nii-san?”, Erika is still smiling at me, but her eyes are not smiling at all. Looking deep into her eyes made my body shiver.

”N-Nothing...”, thus, I decided to keep quiet.

”Hey, Yuuji! Don't give up so easily!”, Haruto shouted.

”Who said that you can speak?”, Erika said that as she kicked him in the crotch.

I'm sorry Haruto... Your sister is just too scary... I apologized to him in my mind.

After a period of walking silently, Mio suddenly said something,

”Neenee~ Nii-sama, since all of us are gathered here already, why don't we play a board game together?”

Since what she said sounded like a good idea, I agreed to her request.

”Sounds like a good idea, Mio. How about you guys? Oh, and since we're going to hang out anyway, why not stay over at my place?”

”Sounds good, Nii-san! Don't you think so, plebian?”

”Hey, since when have I been degraded into a plebian?!?!”

”H-Hmph! If you really want to spend time together with me that much, I guess that I would join you then.”

Sounds like everyone agreed. Though, the second reply does sound a little weird...

”It's settled, then! Let's go buy some food to eat!”

Thus, our restless night of playing board games begun...
