Why did he pause so much? Why did he hesitate so much?

He was standing there looking all so contemplative.

It was natural to have a gun in a military base, right?

He smiled at me and gave me a head nod, before going on his way, his face almost looking charming, after all that tension a moment ago.

I turned around and headed to the stalls with Zion, but now there were thoughts coursing through my brain as if they had been branded there.

Why was that guy so weird? Why did I get a sense of danger From him? Like he was looking at me like an ant.

The Gun? It was natural to have a gun, right?

Wait there was something wrong with the model, it was a police gun and not a military weapon, There were no police stationed on iron lake military base, senior officers were said to patrol and handle all the law enforcement here, as civilian officers could never Arrest military personnel.

Bases were a place of their own laws, and enforcement, no Civilian could ever measure up.

Because of some basic reasoning, a military officer who had experience adaptive upgrading would never be taken down by a civilian level gun.

A police gun was more of a weapon made to kill a Human criminal and not an advanced soldier.

{Zatland: Hey Zion did you see that guy I bumped into? Was he acting kind of weird?]

[Zion: what guy? I didn't see anything.]

[Zatland: ahh then never mind.]

Something felt wrong to me, as I got up and was ordering my food. I pulled Zion away from the stall, and we went running. I decided we needed to find that guy; something felt wrong.

Narrator

Zatland and Zion started walking in the direction of the six-foot-tall man with a gun,who was earlier seen walking towards the south direction.

They had to hurry up and see if Zatlands instincts were accurate.

When Zatland told Zion of his suspicious, Zion wanted to just ignore the situation, and move on with his life.

if it wasn't for Zatland, the ever proverbial leader of the two he wouldn't be pulled along. Zion didn't quite doubt Zatland instincts, but he felt it was nothing that they should have to mess with, as it was none of their business, even if the man was dangerous.

Even though the two of them had now decided to pursue the situation, they had let the man get a head start on them by several minutes, and he had gone out of sight. Zion didn't like the amount of work they had to put into the situation, potentially at the cost of their own safety.

While Civilian weapons couldn't kill or cause damage to an experienced office after adaptive training, Zatland had overlooked the fact that they hadn't completed adaptive training yet. They were stronger than the average civilian, but if they were filled with enough lead holes, they would still be gravely injured or die.

”what are we going to do now zoo? We can't be late for training, or you know what happens.” Zion questioned.

In military training, people would be suspended for a year or steeply fined and punished. If they were late for their recruitment date. The punishments weren't anything short of hazing and had broken the resolve of many recruits.

They would pretty much be humiliated in front of everyone, including their peers and family, sometimes on a live broadcast.

Zatland wasn't worried so much, because the two of them had an excess of about two hours to get moving again; if they wanted to find the person, they had about two hours to look for the guy.
