21 Why are you crying? (2/2)
Mu Liang filled her plate with food and told her to eat. They both begun to eat. After some time he said,
”Well don't think that I will let last night go easily, you have to clarify some things.”
'Might be about the romantic things we did last night.' She nodded. ”What is it?”
”Last night when I hung up the call and approached you, you were drunk. Explain!” he said with a serious and dangerous yet soft tone.
She was taken aback by his question first then smiled to see care in his deep eyes. ”A waiter gave me a glass a wine, I thought he was just doing his service so, I accepted.”
”You mean you didn't know what type of wine you were drinking?”
”Yes.” he raised his eyebrow and asked in a warning tone, ”Even after drinking the first sip you didn't realize that you shouldn't drink it?”
She hesitated to answer but looking at his serious and firm face she said, ”I was focused on you, I didn't think much and drank the whole thing in one go.” She evaded eye contact. He was surprised and happy to listen to her but didn't show it on his face. ”Look at me!” She clenched the edge of the table and looked at him nervously. He sighed and took her hands and signaled her to sit on his lap.She sat on his lap, he kissed the back of her hands and stroked her face.
”Lan you should be careful next time. This business world is way above dirty, they drug women sometimes, offer them wines. But not simple wines, strong alcohol containing wines and then when they fall into this trap they used them for one night stands and many more cruel things. You have to take care of yourself for me, for us.”- He said in a low and soft voice. 'Why would a waiter serve the drink at the garden to a girl? He wouldn't until someone ordered him to do so.' He took note of it. LAN was trying to holding her tears back but with his last sentence her tears rolled down her cheeks. Mu Liang was panicked to see her tears.
”Hey, why are you crying? I'm sorry I didn't want to scare you.” He swiped her tears away with his thumb. LAN put her arms around his neck and rested her head on his neck. He felt warm breath on his neck. He was relaxed. She was feeling secure and comfortable. ”I'm not scared of you, you make me feel safe. It's just that no one took care of me as you do.”
