35 Her Resolution (1/2)

Mozart was surprised to see how beautiful the lake was. It was so peaceful and quiet here. No wonder the girl beside him liked to visit this place. Erza told him that this was her favourite place in the academy on their way here.

Mozart then noticed there was a boy sleeping on the grass at the lakefront. As they got closer, the boy suddenly woke up and turned his head to face them.

”Eh, how come do you wake up now? Usually, you would not be aware of my arrival.” Erza walked toward the boy.

Beel ignored her question and looked carefully at Mozart. He remembered that Mozart was one of the fighter in the last competition, so he was in the same grade with Erza and possibly a classmate.

”Big brother, this is my friend, Mozart. Mozart, this is my big brother, Beel.” Erza introduced the two boys. Mozart was surprised with the way Erza called Beel.

”I'll just call you Beel if you don't mind.” Mozart offered him a handshake.

”Sure. I'll call you little Mephis then.” Beel accepted his handshake. Mozart was visibly shaken.

”Mephis? His name is Mozart, big brother.” Erza was confused.

”I do not expect to receive a nickname from you in our first meeting. It might mean that we are fated to be good brothers.”

”Possible.” Beel smiled nonchalantly. ”So how could you two come together?”

Erza then explained the matter of them being classmates and the fact she asked him to join her group during the lunch time. They talked a bit before each of them laid down on the grass. Erza was sleeping in the middle of the two boys.

'How did he know?' Mozart mind was in a mess. He was pretending to be calm on the outside, but inside he was far from calm. 'She said his name was Beel. Beel... Is he....?'

Seeing the two youths beside him were sleeping soundly, Mozart decided to put everything on the back of his mind and also took a nap. He was later woken up by the noise of Erza and Beel playing around. They were both trying to see who could throw the farthest stone. The stone must be skipping on the surface of the lake.

Mozart joined them and soon three youths were playing around the lake.

”When are you going to the underground dungeon?” Erza suddenly asked Beel.

According to Mr. Ariel, every first year students would have mid-year exams after their first six months in the academy, followed by a competition similar to the last championship at year end.

As for the second year students, they would similarly have mid-year exams. However, at their year end, they would have to attend the Eastern Trial.

Different from them, third year students like Beel would have their mid-year tests at the underground dungeon. And on their year end, they would have another combat tournament to prove themselves. Interestingly, the champion of first year students would have the opportunity to test himself against the champion of third year students.

”Will you miss me? Don't worry, I will not go this soon, probably four to five months later.”

”Eh, you do not want to go there first?” As the top student in his grade, Beel was able to enter the underground dungeon earlier. This would give him an advantage over his peers since he would have more time to familiarize himself with the environment there.

”No need. No one was my equal in my grade.” Beel had absolute confidence in himself. Erza just rolled her eyes at him.

Later on, Erza had dinner with her friends as per usual and went back to her room after that. At night, she met up with Ash again in her dream.

”You are getting better with your acts.”
