88 Girlfriend or Secretary? (1/2)

”Naked in bed with another woman! Are you serious?”

Han Lili felt flabbergasted. ”Tell me what happened. Maybe you saw the wrong thing.”

”I got a text from him asking me to come over and so I went to his apartment. When I got there, a woman opened the door for me and told me he was in his room and there he was, in his bed with someone else.”

Han Lili felt that after she explained, it became even harder to believe. Why would there be two women in the iceberg's home at once? He can barely stand the presence of one. This sounded way too sketchy. There is definitely some foul play going on here.

”You said a woman opened the door, who was she?”

”I don't really know her.” Su Lian tried hard to recollect. ”I had met her once at an art gallery, she had a long scar on her face. It went from one of her eyes all the way down to her chin. That's all I can remember. I tried really hard to forget that night.”

Wait, a scar on her face?

Is Su Lian describing her brother's bodyguard? That psychotic scarface who gives her the chills?

Han Lili's eyes flash with malice.

”Well, did you confront him? What did he say.”

Su Lian turns her head around not wanting to answer. ”The concerts about to start.”

'Shut up or leave.'

Those were the words he had said. She didn't even ask him for an explanation, she was willing to forgive him. All he had to do was pretend to care or at least say that he would change.

She was tired of not knowing her place in his life.

There was a time that they had met someone he knew at a cafe.

The man had asked if she was his secretary and Han Yuan said nothing in reply.

”Qui tacet consentit” - a famous Latin quote meaning silence implies consent.

Even though he didn't confirm it, he didn't deny it either.

What if he does that to their child? What if one day Su Yichen gets heartbroken over his father's indirect denial. In her opinion, it is much better to not have something in the first place, than to have it and then lose it.

Su Yichen is better off not having a father with him than having a father who will be ashamed of his existence and maybe even leave him.

She knows that her life was not the best before she met Han Yuan, but it was still better compared to how she felt that night she found him in bed with another woman.
