29 Reward or Punishment? (1/2)

Su Lian doesn't respond.

She straps her son in the car and takes a seat next to him while the driver speeds off to their villa.

It's not that she doesn't want to reply, she doesn't know how to. She herself has no idea where he is. What should she tell her son?

Seeing his mother silent, Su Yichen doesn't speak anymore either. He just stares out the window and thinks to himself.

'My teacher is wrong, not everyone has a daddy. If everyone did, then how come there isn't one here with me and mommy?'

After Su Lian drops her son at home and leaves him with Stephanie, she rushes back to work to meet the waiting Bella.

Getting to her office, she sees Ryan sitting in front of her desk with a folder.

”I brought you all the information that there is to know on Wei Xiang. Do I get a reward?”

Su Lian takes the folder and looks through it before nodding her head in praise. ”You can take the rest of the day off.”

Ryan shakes his head and speaks in a displeased tone, ”Spending time away from you. That's not a reward, that's a punishment.”

”So what do you want? A bonus?” Su Lian ignores his snarky remark and continues to flip through the folder.

”How about you treat me to dinner?”

”I already have plans with Bella.”
