However their bodies were tough. Guns were held like toys, close combat was a mess. We would be coughing up blood after sparring with the instructors. The instructors would get bruises from the sheer strength of the children. I fared just as bad, because I was mainly focused on hiding my skills for the event three days from now.
I walked to the cafeteria, however I noticed something weird. All seven of us were sitting next to each other. I usually are alone. Instead we ate in silence, but a kid at the end of the table finally spoke.

We all echoed,”Hi,”.
Damn can this get any more awkward.
”How is your day,”
”Good” we all echoed.
These phrases were all taught to us when we were young, yet it was really all we knew. As we finished eating, a researcher came up and told us to follow. Down the elevator we went, and eventually we came to a room with a chair in the middle of it. It was surrounded by plenty of machines as servos whirred, and mechanical arms awaited use.
We were strapped in and a glass of suspicious liquid was given to us.
”Drink,” they ordered. As we drank I fell into a deep sleep, and woke up the next day a changed boy.
