Chapter 239 - Who would Win (1/2)
The emergence of the Dark Bible reminded everyone present that there had once been a force of darkness that was even greater than the Vampiric Empire.
The Covenant of Darkness was once a behemoth that had once ruled over half of Europe.
The covenant had been a monster that had once fought the church for ages.
The history of the covenant had even eclipsed that of the church.
There had even been rumors that the establishment of the church was a forced measure that resulted from humans having no other means of fighting the Covenant of Darkness that were going about business as they fancied.
The church grew in strength and influence from then on out. Eventually, the church was even able to overpower the covenant and ultimately crushing it, forcing their remnants to flee elsewhere.
The Vampiric Empire had once been a subsidiary of the Covenant of Darkness, which, due to withstand getting harassed and attacked by the church around the clock, chose to flee for the New World on board the ships carrying the emigrants, establishing a mighty Vampiric Empire anew.
The Dark Bible was one of the so-called sacred relics left by the Covenant of Darkness from ages past, which was considered one of the most powerful power items in the covenant.
However, the book was later said to be destroyed in a battle with the church, and it had been said to have been permanently lost. While being “permanently lost” seemed far-fetched from the looks of things at the moment, there was nonetheless no doubt that it was severely damaged.
“So, that’s the Dark Bible.”
Lu Xuan pouted for a bit and continued, “Spirit qi has been gone long enough to have the Dark Bible regress to such a broken state, eh? What a pity.”
He had once seen the Dark Bible in his past life, but that book had already been restored to its peak state by the empire back then, making it an extremely formidable relic.
It was a terrifying power item that was capable of slaughtering a city-full of people. It was known to be a nuclear weapon among power items.
It was a pity that the Dark Bible had regressed to become a shadow of its former state, severely damaged as well. The book probably had less than one percent of its original power at its current state.
The Count shot a cold glare at Lu Xuan and felt very stunned deep down. After having traded blows with Lu Xuan for a bit, the Count felt that the terrifying power within Lu Xuan’s being frightened him very, very much.
The Count felt as if he ran into a ghost.
He was puzzled as to why Lu Xuan was capable of getting to such a horrific level of cultivation, making Lu Xuan seem like he was totally beyond human.
He had a feeling that the man before him was more like a beast in human form instead.
If it had not been for the Dark Bible, he would have long fled while facing against a monster that defied conventions in such ways.
“Well, the Dark Bible may be something, but this is pretty much all you’re capable of wielding it,” Lu Xuan commented plainly.
A tinge of extreme threat was seen in the eyes of the Count when he heard such words.
He held onto the Dark Bible, and pitch-black light burst from within. It took only an instant for the dark beam being brought down onto Lu Xuan, in the form of an extremely long gash.
The huge gash was brought down upon Lu Xuan like a gigantic blade right there and then.
“The Dark Bible, eh?” Lu Xuan laughed and waved. A beam of terrifying sword aura shot from the main hall behind him in that very instant, flying into his hand.
That blade was none other than the True Force Sword.
Everyone present was shocked, and even Jingyunzi did not expect that Lu Xuan was able to wield that blade with such ease.
It was worth noting that Jingyunzi was a legitimate successor to the WuTang Clan, and even he needed to resort to various means before becoming capable of wielding the True Force Sword.
Yet, Lu Xuan demonstrated that he was able to wield that blade like a regular sword, which stunned Jingyunzi to the core.
He had no idea if it was due to Lu Xuan having access to special means, or that Lu Xuan was simply just that terrifying of a cultivator—someone who had reached the Celestial Realm.
The blade tingled in Lu Xuan’s hand, seemingly intending to fly off of his hand.
Lu Xuan was not about to let the blade do that. He played a trick right away, and the sword quieted down immediately.
That trick was called the “True Chant of Relic Manipulation,” which consisted of the general principles of manipulating power items.
