Chapter 212 - Killing Adam and the Vampires (1/2)
Lu Xuan easily blocked Adam’s attack, and he did so without breaking a sweat.
Every single attack that Adam was able to pull seemed futile.
“Go to hell!”
He spread the webbed wings on his back, and his eyes became pitch black. He disappeared from where he stood as he stomped hard on the ground.
No common folk would have even been able to track his movements.
But then again, Lu Xuan was no common folk. He extended his hands and tore at the air. A shriek was heard almost instantly, and Adam was seen dropping from the sky.
The webbed wings on his back were torn away right there and then. Blood splattered everywhere.
Adam’s superspeed was utterly useless before Lu Xuan’s pair of Delusion-breaker Eyes.
The super speed that Adam was so proud of, actually made him look like he was moving in slow motion in Lu Xuan’s eyes.
Lu Xuan’s dynamic visual acuity was insanely powerful, after all.
He grabbed at the air before him right away, just as Adam began to fall out of the sky.
Boundless Spiritual Qi formed on his hand, coalescing into a huge dragon claw and took hold of Adam right away.
Adam struggled with all his might, yet the claw remained firmly clamped around his body all the same.
The power difference between the two of them was simply too vast.
There was finally an expression of despair seen on Adam’s face at that moment. He finally realized right there and then, that the power difference between him and Lu Xuan was so huge that it was beyond his imagination.
Lu Xuan was at a height that he had no hope of ever reaching.
“Spare me, and you’ll earn the friendship of the Association of Lore Seekers!” Adam said right away.
“Friendship of the Association of Lore Seekers? Just what the hell do you take me for?” Lu Xuan quipped plainly. It was apparent that he thought Adam’s words to be utterly beneath him.
“The Association of Lore Seekers is but the tip of the iceberg, behind the association, there is…” Adam did not get to finish his sentence before Lu Xuan’s dragon claw squished Adam down, who was instantly pulverized and reduced to a fine mist of blood spraying everywhere.
“Behind the Association of Lore Seekers, eh?” Lu Xuan snickered mockingly. He knew what was behind the association without a doubt, and he was most probably the only person in the world who knew of that so well.
He knew that there was a goliath behind the association—the vampires told of in myths and legends.
With the exception of Lu Xuan, there were probably only five insanely powerful figures at the top of the world’s power structures, who knew a thing or two about the association, which was a cultivation force backed by the vampires.
Those beings hid and grew their numbers in plain sight among humans for millennia. It was due exactly to that that the vampires had a power base with very deep roots and commanded authority like no other. They were especially powerful in the United States.
It was said that a group of vampires ventured out into the oceans in order to escape persecution from the church, landing in North America, which was a wild and untamed land back in those days. Those vampires quickly established their rule all over North American regions.
There were quite a number of clans that had ties in one way or another to the vampires or that consisted of vampires outright. Many of them were even known for their fondness of those beings, becoming vampires themselves in order to gain immortality, as well as the favor of the vampires of old.
There were countless throughout the United States who worked or made to work for the vampires one way or another, regardless if those people were aware of it or otherwise.
The vampires were beings that, even the United States, which was known as the top of the big five nations in the world, were very wary of this. Adam definitely had his reasons for daring to negotiate with Lu Xuan as he had.
It was quite a pity in his case, given how others might have been wary if they were to know that it was the vampires behind the association. If they were in Lu Xuan’s position, they might have spared him.
However, Lu Xuan never had such thoughts in the least, to begin with. In his eyes, the vampires were like cancer cells hiding among the humans, monsters that grew by feeding off of the essence of humans.
All of that was still very much a hidden secret at the moment. Even in his past life, it took many years for the vampires to finally rear their heads in public. They had even waged war against the human world, causing massive casualties.
