Despite Shi Danze’s formidable prowess, he was still completely overwhelmed by Qiu Qianying’s moves.

To him, meeting someone packed with power items that provided a defense against mental type attacks would be like meeting his natural enemy.

It was just like how it was when Zhang Hongyang first met Lu Xuan.

All mental attacks that Zhang Hongyang had been able to bring to the table had been totally useless against Lu Xuan, whose mental strength was far above Zhang Hongyang’s.

While such power items were not widely available, they were not all that difficult to craft, either. Lu Xuan was capable of making a couple without much trouble. But then again, all that he crafted were considered low-level, incapable of providing defense over prolonged periods of time.

While the effects of such power items would have been limited in the hands of common folks, in the hands of top-notch fighters, even blocking one mental attack would have enabled them to deal the decisive attack in the fight. The number of times those items would work was irrelevant.

While the Mental Awakened had an overwhelming advantage in the early stages, they were also easy to counter.

Be it warriors, cultivators, spellcasters, or just some Awakened, all had their own unique strengths, and the key was how to make the most of their powers.

“Hahaha, a Mental Awakened, eh? Nothing but trash before me.”

Qiu Qianying laughed out loud as he threw a punch at Shi Danze, throwing the latter back right away and causing him to spit up blood.

It was fortunate that Shi Danze was still a Martial Arts Legend as well. While he excelled in mental attacks, his constitution had, nonetheless, improved as well. Common Baodan Grandmasters would probably end up getting punched to death right there and then instead.

The crone and the man with sharp features smirked at the side, feeling pleased with themselves. It was that man who had crippled them personally, after all, and they were very eager to see their master tear Shi Danze to shreds.

Qiu Qianying pounced and launched his knuckledusters at Shi Danze right away.

Shi Danze was cornered to a wall, having nowhere else to run.

A trembling boom was heard in the nick of time. A pebble fired without anyone having noticed it.

Qiu Qianying backed away at that key moment, evading that terrifying attack frantically.

That pebble lodged deep into the wall, punching quite a hole out of it. Spider web-like cracks then spread out in all directions from the original spot where the pebble had hit.

The force of that hit was so strong that it rivaled machine gun bullets.

“Who are you?” Qiu Qianying finally caught sight of someone looking at them from the second floor.

1The ferocious smirk on his face was rescinded as he pointed straight at Ling Huang. “Ling Huang, it’s your honor that I sent someone to ask for your daughter’s hand of marriage, and you dare to cripple my men. I can see that you’ve gotten too used to being on top when it comes to most things, thinking you can rule over all just because you’re rich.”

Qiu Qianying kept his hands behind his back, not even bothering to look at Shi Danze, who was panting and puking blood in the corner from that punch.

He had power items capable of nullifying mental powers on his person, which made him unbeatable in such circumstances. Being robbed of the effectiveness of his mental impacts, Shi Danze’s prowess was such that he probably would not have been able to even beat a Baodan Grandmaster.

That man was of no threat to Qiu Qianying at all.

“You probably don’t even know what the world truly looks like yet. Rich people like you might have been all the rave before others, but tons of you people lay before me like dogs all the same.”

Qiu Qianying boasted away, behaving like he had everything under control.

He had seen a fair share of such rich people in Southern Yunnan, who were throwing their weight around before him. Yet, all of them were little more than dogs before him, and he was able to do whatever he pleased with them.

The situation was such that they were considered less than dogs, and the lives of many such people were in his hands.

Ling Huang looked angered when he heard all that. Giants in the commerce like him all had immense pride in themselves, and yet, a young man like Qiu Qianying dared to belittle him to such an extent, due only to having a rather formidable fighting prowess.

It was only then that he realized that his daughter, Ling Fei, might have been right all along—no matter how much money he earned, he was indeed less than a dog before the eyes of some.
