Chapter 44 (1/2)

“You dare to play dirty!? This is too much!” Hao Danfeng leaped up from his chair right away, heading straight for that young man.

That young man made a move right away without announcing anything. From his perspective, that as hardly different from playing dirty.

Those of the Seven Invincible Sect glared at that young man with angry faces.

However, Hao Danfeng did not manage to harm that young man when he was blasted with a single punch. He was then sent flying backward quicker than before.

Hao Danfeng attacked head-on, yet he was unable to take even one single hit from that young man. Be it in terms of speed or power, that young man completely trumped Hao Danfeng.

It was no longer a problem with younger people having an edge in martial arts. Just like how it had been with Lin Sheng defeating Chen Chang before, it was a problem with the difference in levels.

It took only one move.

At that moment, even the slowest, densest of spectators would have been able to tell just how different the powers between both sides were.

That young man practically overwhelmed Hao Danfeng.

Although the young man indeed looked like he was playing dirty before, from the looks of things at the moment, the results would have hardly differed if both were to actually just clash head-on.

Hao Danfeng crashed to the ground hard and continued to cough up blood. Several of his ribs were broken right there and then.

“What a piece of trash!” That young man smirked smugly, not bothering with what was happening before him.

All those from the Seven Invincible Sect panicked right away. With even the two most formidable leading figures among them so easily defeated, they were at a loss for what to do. It was something that they had never encountered before.

“Mr. Lu, that’s the man. I sent his picture to headquarters earlier, and something just came back. That man is Chen Jiashang. He hails from the main line of the Chen Clan overseas. He has undergone mercenary training since he was young, and he was also the disciple of that traitor of the Special Task Force.” The voice of Square-faced Fatso sounded in Lu Xuan’s ears. “Chen Jiashang made quite a name for himself over the past few years, fighting all over Southeast Asia. None have been able to best him. The higher-ups are telling us to take him out immediately. We can’t afford to let him leave the country.”

Lu Xuan stood immediately after hearing that, coming before Lin Sheng and Hao Danfeng. He then locked several points on their bodies using needles coalesced from Spiritual Qi, preventing their injuries from worsening.

“Thank you, Mr. Lu.” Lin Sheng struggled to thank Lu Xuan.

“I’ll look into your injuries once I’m done with this guy,” Lu Xuan said.

He had never bothered interfering due to all of it being affairs between those two parties. Scores of their own fought and killed each other every year, and both sides had gotten very used to it. Lu Xuan saw no need to get himself involved.

However, things were different at the moment. Given how that young man had something to do with that traitor of the Special Task Force, Lu Xuan saw it fit to use that man for practice.

That young man shot a cold, condescending glare at Lu Xuan, thinking Lu Xuan was yet another fellow who did not know his place.

Everyone turned their gaze to Lu Xuan. Everyone was puzzled why someone else dared to step up after that harrowing demonstration of power demonstrated by that young man.

“He’s crazy. He sure is gonna end up dead right away!” Guo Yuanyuan exclaimed.

From her perspective, Lu Xuan was just too bold.

Lu Yuling said nothing and felt very tense as well, afraid of the possible sight of seeing Lu Xuan getting bashed so badly that he would die while spitting up blood all over the place. It would have been too bloody of a scene to witness.

“Chen Jiashang, I take it?” Lu Xuan grinned and continued, “I’m surprised to see that you’ve become a martial arts legend at such a young age. It’s no surprise why Lin Sheng and the others couldn’t do anything about you. Too bad you have run into me.”

Everyone was immediately baffled by what he said, especially those who were very close to where both men were. They knew a thing or two about martial arts despite not being warriors themselves.

Baodan Grandmasters were already considered quite legendary, to begin with. They were qualified enough to become bodyguards of the leader of the Inner Palace. Martial arts legends were even more so, as they were indeed true legends.

Judging from that young man’s appearance, he was definitely below 30, and everyone was surprised that he was already a martial arts legend.
