Chapter 35：Luo Kun, Killed (1/2)

Out of the two intertwining bodies, the female was none other than Dai Yingying—the once-best friend of Lin Miaoyi. Nevertheless, the male was no stranger to Lu Xuan either.

Seemingly around the age of 27 or 28, he was a suave-looking man with a slightly darkened expression. He was Luo Kun from the Luo family, as well as the mastermind who killed Lu Xuan's family in his past life.

Luo Kun gathered Dai Yingying in his arms and asked, ”Haven't you gained Miaoyi's trust?”

Dai Yingying stiffened for a second before replying, ”Not yet. You should know how Miaoyi usually is, that character of hers. Regaining her trust after losing it is simply too difficult. I can't even get a chance to see her!”

”That's unacceptable. You must think of another way to get near her. She plays a huge role in my plans!” Dai Yingying's excuse was immediately shot down by Luo Kun.

”It's all the fault of that wretched Lu Xuan! Can't you send someone to kill him already?” Dai Yingying sulked cutely. She remembered how Lu Xuan had humiliated her and could hardly contain the fury in her heart.

”Don't worry. Consider him dead, as that is what he will soon be. It is just a matter of time. While Miaoyi can shield him for the time being, I don't believe that she can protect him forever!” Luo Kun sneered coldly. ”He is just a nobody, and there's nothing to fear. When I finally become the god of the new era, squishing a commoner like him would be as simple as squishing an ant!”

Luo Kun had never taken Lu Xuan seriously, even since the beginning. If not for his fear of tempting the wrath and retaliation of Lin Miaoyi, he would have made a move on Lu Xuan a long time ago.

The two of them got dressed only to find a masked man wearing a black trench coat sitting on one of the living room sofas. The mysterious intruder sank into the couch as he leisurely observed Luo Kun and Dai Yingying.

”I assume that you're done? Great timing. Let us settle some scores between us!” Lu Xuan said casually.

The two of them were immediately startled. Especially Luo Kun, who was absolutely horrified. When did this man appear? There was no sign at all.

Luo Kun was the most shocked of the two. As Dai Yingying was an ordinary human, it was only natural for her to have weaker senses. However, he was different. As a level four Awakened, even if he wasn't the most powerful, out of all who were currently awakened, he was definitely up there with the top of the line bigwigs.

Naturally, the senses of an Awakened would be far more perceptive than that of an average human. However, even he could not identify how the mysterious man managed to break in.

”Men!” Luo Kun quickly hollered. However, there was no response at all.

”Save the yelling. They have gone ahead before you into the pits of hell!” Lu Xuan said calmly.

”What? Who in the world are you?” Luo Kun regained his composure now that things had come to this. He knew that the one standing in front of him must be no ordinary man.

As he moved, he tried to make his way to the other end of the couch.

However, before he could even budge, there was the high-pitched sound of something piercing the air. Luo Kun let out a blood-curdling screech. Something had punctured one of his arms clean through, and blood soon spilled everywhere.

A piece of rock impaled the wall.

”Looking for a gun?” Lu Xuan grinned. ”Did you think that I wouldn't know what you're thinking?”

Indeed, Luo Kun never dreamed that Lu Xuan would guess his intentions right away. He quickly paled and broke into a cold sweat.

Lu Xuan eyeballed Luo Kun, who was right in front of him. Compared to the Luo Kun he faced in his previous life, the current Luo Kun was still wet behind the ears.

Not only were both Luo Kuns differ vastly in cultivation levels, but the current Luo Kun was still thinking like an ordinary human. Even when armed with his cultivation, his first reaction upon seeing an enemy was to grab a gun, similar to a non-cultivating regular human.

Dai Yingying, who was standing beside him, was scared out of her wits. After all, she was, in the end, a regular human.
