Yun Sheng explained to everyone, ”After confirming that nothing would go wrong with Mr. Lu here, we decided to eradicate the base of Hellfire. That was why we were late!”

”It's fine. We didn't come into any harm!” Ling Huang waved his hand in consolation. As an army veteran who had participated in several wars, he had long regained his composure.

Of course, he was able to understand the difficulties of his old comrade as well.

Yun Sheng only turned to the sofa after he finished, fixing his gaze on a Lu Xuan, who looked relaxed and a little aloof.

”How do you intend for them to join then? Arm them with the equipment of the special ops, and no one could ever stand up against them in the warzone. Did you think that it would be possible to make someone like that to comply with our research fully? To let us study the secret to his overwhelming strength?”

Of course, some disagreed.

”Also, he could have laid low and stayed under the radar, yet he chose not to. Wasn't that a clear warning for us to steer clear from their affairs?”

The admiral who suggested for Lu Xuan to ”join ” them turned red with embarrassed anger.

”We could control his parents and his kin, then! I don't believe that he is without weakness!”

Before he could finish, Yun Sheng immediately cut him off, ”Times have changed, and some rules ought to be changed as well. More and more people like Lu Xuan would only surface overtime. It might be possible to control one of them, but can we control them all? What you're suggesting is essentially putting us on the opposing side of all of the Awakened!

”It is impossible to defeat them, and so that leaves us with only one choice: bring them to our side. Also, Lu Xuan did not display any anti-societal inclinations, nor did he use his powers to commit crimes. I believe that he is someone whom we can try to buy over to our camp. We, the Agency of Special Affairs, need a powerhouse like him to join us. Within and beyond our country, all sorts of awakenings and invasions are going on every day. There is a pressing need for someone this powerful to keep watch!” Yun Sheng was scarily stern. ”I don't care what ideas the military has in mind. But no matter what operation you plan to carry out, you must not bypass my authority. In this country, we are in charge of all matters concerning the cultivators!”

Upon finishing his piece, Yun Sheng turned and left the secret chamber.
