5 I Am Left Handed (1/2)

”Young Master Hynes... Mrs. Hynes. Come right in, the Hynes family is waiting for you in the main living room.”A butler dressed in a servant's outfit greeted them at the entrance of the house and directed them into a hallway.

”Thank you Butler James.” A polite response came from Rory's mother. Without hesitation, she automatically started to make her way there. Her steps were quick and unstable, however she continued to walk.

Rory, already used to such fineries, barely looked around at all and walked fast to catch up to her mother. She grabbed her hand in an attempt to stabilize her as they made their way.

In the main living room around twenty people greeted them. Some were completely unfamiliar to Rory, however others she had seen somewhere on TV.

Many of them held condescending looks on their faces, which annoyed Rory to the fullest. However, she didn't show it on her face at all, only taking the lead in front of her mom to block them from sight. Her eyes wondered around the room before settling on one figure. Victor Hynes, the current owner of Hynes hotels.

”Hello Grandfather and- others.” Her melodic voice echoed in the room drawing everyone's attention to her. Surprise colored their faces when they realized the voice came from the normally quiet Rory Hynes, but quickly many turned sour hearing the insulting end of his sentence. Did he think that they weren't worth addressing?! He had to know that he is the issue with our family not us!

”Sit, Rory” A stern voice came out of Victor Hynes, sitting on a couch in the middle of living room. His eyebrows were wrinkled together as he observed Rory.

Rory noticed that there was only one spot left in the room and her lips curled up slightly. Realizing the situation, Mrs. Hynes tried to retract her hand only to be stunned by Rory's next action.

”Of course Grandfather. Come mom let's sit.” Rory lead her mom to the chair that was meant for her before sitting cross legged on the ground next to her. Her actions were careless and in the eyes of many, very defiant.

Rory didn't think much of it after all, as a business woman she has long learned that shame is a luxury that she didn't possess. No one disrespects her people.

The wrinkle between Victor's eyes became even more apparent. Yet, he didn't say anything.

”Tsk it's only expected that dogs would sit on the ground.” A woman sitting on a couch glared at Rory coldly. She whispered this loud enough for everyone to hear causing some snickers in the room.

Rory didn't bother to look her way. Right when she walked into this room she could tell that no matter what she did they would still be dissatisfied with her. They held a prejudice against her and her mother that she couldn't understand.

She knew that it was likely because of the inheritance, however understanding was a different story. She didn't understand why people became so greedy for money even losing themselves in the process. In her past life she had millions of dollars in her bank account, which she couldn't deny that she was proud of achieving. However, she would never sell her soul for it.

”What are you doing doing boy?!” One of the uncles at the side reprimanded her. His face is was red and puffed up with anger.
