20 Ugly Butterflies (1/2)

Inside the car, Elaia was seated in between D and Arion. Talk about a very awkward atmosphere.

As Elaia yawned due to exhaustion, D looked at her and said, ”The journey will take about an hour. You can sleep if you want. The limousine is quite spacious.”

Elaia nodded and offered D a small smile appreciating his concern. ”It's okay. I'm not really that tired.”

”You can place your head on my shoulders as you sleep.” D suggested.

Vainos snorted then said, ”Is that how you hit on girls, Boss?” Then he continued chuckling.

D faced Vainos. ”I don't hit girls. I'm a well-known gentleman.” D responded.

The car went silent for a second then everyone bursted out laughing.

Who would have thought that one of the most powerful Gods is this innocent. Akila and Vainos thought.

Akira then butted in and said, ”Not literally hitting girls like punching them, D. It means like you're showing interest to the opposite sex in a romantic way.”

Realization immediately hits D. He cleared his throat and then said, ”I just read those lines in one of the romantic novel books of Akila.”

Vainos chuckled then nodded, ”I kinda already figured that one out.” He then turned his attention towards Akila, ”You need to stop being a hopeless romantic. Not a good influence to our boss here. It's not as if you have a girlfriend to practice those cheesy lines to begin with.”

Then Vainos gave a high-five to Akira. Applied cold water to the burnt area, Akila!

”Well, it's not as if we're permitted to fall in love in first place.” Akila mumbled.

Vainos and Akira went quiet. They know what Akila meant. Vainos and Akila, being servants of the Gods where they should commit their dedication and undying loyalty to their Masters. It means that loving someone else is totally prohibited.
