46 End of Flashback Part 1 (2/2)

From other people's perspectives, they would see a handsome man and beautiful woman passing back a wrapped meal again and again, as if they were teammates playing basketball or as if that meal was poisoned.

Moreover, another similar handsome man just stared at them with interest and amusement, as if he was the referee watching over the game.

However, after several minutes, Kyle got tired of watching his brother hogging all the attention of his beloved to himself.

Kyle could clearly see the enjoyment plainly written on his face, making him irritated to the bone. Hence, Kyle immediately stole that wrapped meal away from their tight clutches and hid it behind his back so they could not steal it away.

In return, Scarlet and Kevin stared back at Kyle with one confused and one irritated glance.

Kyle slightly nodded to his beloved and openly ignored his brother's anger.

Kyle swiftly snatched his beloved's lunch box and handed the wrapped meal back to her, making his beloved even more confused than before.

”Take this meal and I'll take this in return. There should be no more complaints, right?” Kyle answered back in a very serious manner, as if he was handling a deal that would cost him his death.

”...” Scarlet immediately was taken aback and stunned in her place. Indeed, she could not refute such a logical reason of a genius.

What more could she say?

When his beloved was frozen into place, Kyle used that opportunity to place the meal into her frozen hand, sat down beside her, and ate her lunch box to his heart's content.

Kyle was obviously not one bit guilty for taking advantage of this moment.

Meanwhile, Kevin clenched his fists and revealed a very dazzling smile towards his brother.

Kevin clearly saw his brother switching the meal he had snatched to the meal he had personally bought as he had shamelessly given it to her with a straight face.

Furthermore, his brother had the guts to eat her handmade bento in front of him!

How he would love to punch his brother until his face became entirely deformed that he could no longer be called a human. Unfortunately, Kevin was not foolish or stupid enough to do that. If he had the power to bend the law, he would.

Kevin evilly thought and inwardly snickered, 'Why not? You asked for it, bro.'

Meanwhile, Scarlet seriously stared at the wrapped meal and became lost in her thoughts again.

When she stared at it, Scarlet never noticed that the meal was different from the one a while ago.

She only thought, 'Why were they taking care of me so much? What would they even gain from doing this?'

Hence, Scarlet just sat down and obediently ate the meal, for she realized that all her arguments were useless towards these two geniuses. She was still not familiar at how friends interacted, but she had to do her part.

As she ate, Scarlet never realized the tremendous sparks these brothers were exchanging.

She also never realized several surrounding students who were unfortunately paralyzed from being hit by their invisible sparks.

Sadly, those victims had never knew what had hit them.

When Kyle was about to place that food in his mouth, Kevin immediately swallowed the contents from the spoon.

As he chewed, Kevin looked at his brother in a mocking gaze and smiled smugly as if he was saying, 'Serves you right.'

However, before Kyle could secretly punch out the food going down to his stomach, Kevin's eyes glittered like stars in the sky and his whole expression seemed like he had just landed in heaven.

At this moment, Kevin had already thrown away the thoughts of exacting revenge against his brother, because right now, he was filled with great gratitude.

That gratitude was great enough to the extent that his brother's thoughtless and underhanded scheme seemed like a genius plan to him!

Seeing his brother's heavenly expression, Kyle forgot about his brother's mischief, wiped the spoon with a clean tissue, and immediately ate the contents of the bento.

Right then and there, Kyle's own blank and slightly angry facade gave away as his eyes revealed the same glitter and heavenly appeal that was exactly like his brother's.

This tasted way too damn good!

After tasting something so delicious, the brothers finally felt the hunger in their stomachs and heartily ate every single bite while unconsciously abandoning their elegance and self-image for this one cheap meal.

They neither cared about food nor their hunger. They just treated their meals made by the chefs as some sort of responsibility for their health, so they never really enjoyed it.

But from just a single taste of their beloved's meal, they would for sure change this one aspect of their lives entirely.

When the students saw the twins eating that bento like starved wolves, they too instinctively drooled and gulped as they deeply stared at the bento's contents.

It was a simple homemade meal. But from the twin's expressions, they knew that the taste was like no other, because they had entirely changed from just a single bite.

All of the boys were jealous; all of the girls were on cloud nine.

”HAHAHAHHA, dimwits! HAHAHHAH! Ouch, my stomach! HAHHAHAH!”

On the other hand, the baby cupid Alfred was laughing his head off at the amusing scene before him.

He too was slightly jealous that he could not taste his assignment's meal. However, once he saw the twin's childish actions, he laughed out with so much glee, to the point that he had temporarily forgotten his past grudges against them.

Their messy way of eating was engraved entirely to the baby cupid's mind.

Meanwhile, when Scarlet ate the luxurious food given to her, her conscience reprimanded her non-stop.

As expected, their food tasted very delicious. For her, it was way better than her homemade meal, so she did not understand why they would want to exchange this expensive meal for something so cheap. Scarlet had no way to repay them back anymore, for her debt kept accumulating until it became too big.

Hence, Scarlet wisely decided to keep her mouth shut and just pay them back once the opportunity arose.

On the next day, Amanda started visiting her classroom every break time, just like Kevin. Accurately speaking, she arrived exactly at the time Kevin did.

Were they close?

When she thought of that, Scarlet felt something inside her hurt.

Huh, what made her feel this way? Why was she feeling like this?

Every time that girl would visit, Scarlet never noticed the dark aura emanating from these twins. She also did not realize how they would block her from Amanda, as if they were knights protecting a princess from a witch.

No, that statement was wrong. Not, 'as if,' but, 'literally.'

They were literally knights protecting their beloved from a two-faced witch.

When she had noticed how protective her dear darlings were of that trash, Amanda silently gritted her teeth.

Every time she visited and was forced to greet that trash for appearance's sake, how could she not notice that her dear darlings were ignoring the beautiful her as if she was not even there? As if she was not even human?

That trash was being treated like a princess, but the princess was being treated like a trash! How unfair! That went beyond human reasoning!

Amanda had to open their eyes to reality and throw that trash away before that trash could dirty her dear darlings!

As time passed by, Amanda and Kevin kept visiting her classroom as if it was the most natural thing to do.

Every time she would receive their so-called, 'gift,' Scarlet started developing the habit of giving her handmade lunchbox in return without realizing it. She also never realized the excited and expectant gazes of the twins.

No matter how many times they had fought over her attention, they would always come to a truce once they ate her homemade bento. Afterwards, they would resume their battle.

However, that was not all.

All of them had never once noticed Amanda's face growing uglier day by day, except for the baby cupid who was cautiously watching her every move.

As she ate, Scarlet sighed and could not help but think, 'How did things end up like this?'
