The number of cultivators there had fallen by more than half. The missing elders had all been deployed to the battlefield.

The remaining elders and even the Sect Master, Wan Jiecheng, had already prepared themselves to set out at a moment’s notice.

The past few days had been highly unpredictable for the higher-ups of Extreme Celestial Sect.

Firstly, they had received news of Chen Feng leading a force over to take down the forces of Nine Firmaments Palace. Receiving the news gave them hope and they mobilized the sect’s trump card, charging out from the Extreme Celestial Mountains to go assist First Origin City.

When that happened, the higher-ups of Extreme Celestial Sect breathed a sigh of relief. The situation was changing for the better.

However, a series of reports came after that and the faces of Wan Jiecheng and the other elders turned darker and darker.

Nine Firmaments Palace had also sent reinforcements forward. Additionally, it was an unimaginably strong force.

It’s over. It is truly over now. Wan Jiecheng sat silently, his heart in absolute turmoil.

“How could Nine Firmaments Palace possess such a formidable power? This is unbelievable. If they possess such power, couldn’t they have destroyed our sect earlier? Why wait until now?”

“For so many Earthen Immortals to appear all of a sudden, did they gather up all the Earthen Immortals from the Northern Plains? Not to mention, they even have an endless stream of Human Immortals. Huh! This can truly be considered the number one force in the world of cultivation.”

“Sect Master, we…” the elders spoke up.

“All the seniors that we can summon back have been summoned back. All of them had been sent out. It would not be an exaggeration to say that we are now fighting with all our strength. We have no other forces left,” Wan Jiecheng said softy.

“In other words, our Extreme Celestial Sect is destined for destruction?”

“Sect Master, let’s charge out!” someone shouted.

“Of course we will.” Wan Jiecheng stood up.

“Heh! Nine Firmaments Palace wants to destroy our Extreme Celestial Sect? They think that it would be so easy? Even if our sect falls, they must pay a hefty price for doing so!”

“Activate our sect’s final magic arrays. Activate the Extreme Celestial Geocompass!” Wan Jiecheng said sternly.

“Sect Master, are we really doing this?” All of the elders in the hall stood up. Hearing the words Extreme Celestial Geocompass had caused their hearts to throb. Even their faces had turned red.

“That’s right! Activate the Extreme Celestial Geocompass! Let Nine Firmaments Palace witness Extreme Celestial Sect’s ultimate might!”

“Yes!”

This display of strength from Nine Firmaments Palace has completely exceeded my expectations. The forces from Nine Firmaments Palace – coming from the various directions – began attacking. The first wave of attacks inflicted serious casualties upon Extreme Celestial Sect and Chen Feng’s forces.

Even First Origin City’s defences faltered.

The second wave of attacks broke through First Origin City.

The third wave of attacks forced Extreme Celestial Sect and Chen Feng’s forces back to the Extreme Celestial Mountains.

Then came the fourth wave, the fifth wave and the sixth wave of attacks.

The entire Extreme Celestial Mountains began shaking violently and countless cultivators were killed as a result. Thankfully, Nine Firmaments Palace’s forces were still incapable of breaking through their defensive perimeter. Even so, it seemed that it was just a matter of time before it fell.

The main issue here was that the Three Palaces still had more men coming over to reinforce the attacking cultivators. Every one of them was very strong and they all converged upon the Extreme Celestial Mountains.

This display of might from the Three Palaces shocked the entire Northern Plains. Even those cultivators who had come forward to take advantage of the situation lost the courage to take action.

It was too shocking, so much so that it brought fear into the hearts of others.

In the beginning, when Nine Firmaments Palace had first attacked Extreme Celestial Sect, the other sects grew fearful of getting into trouble. They dared not start a fight with Nine Firmaments Palace. Rather, many chose to plunder the burning house.

Many of them were of the opinion that they should simply watch this war from the sides. So long as it did not affect them, no one would care if Extreme Celestial Sect was destroyed.

However, things were different now. Witnessing this display of might from Nine Firmaments Palace’s side, all of them felt fear rising from the depths of their hearts. With this level of power, they can easily crush Extreme Celestial Sect. But if they can easily crush Extreme Celestial Sect, they could also easily crush the other sects.

Some began regretting not joining forces with Extreme Celestial Sect.
