25 Chapter 25 : Bonds (2/2)

”So, You wanna tell me first or should I go first.” Kakashi snuck a glance.

”You go.” Kenji had a few guesses about his meaning.

Kakashi coldly spoke of his experience with his team. The guilt of Obito saving his life, only to die doing it. The feeling of killing his other teammate, Rin, stabbing her through the chest. The look in her eye. And not being there when his sensei's wife died.

”So, you wanna give it a go?”

”I've only told Sasuke some parts. And mom certain parts too. You mean all of it?” He continued his gaze into the ground.

”Yes.”

Kenji paused, took a deep breath and told his story. Listening to the man, Kenji thought if anyone could sympathize with him, it would be his new sensei.

Before he knew it, tears were rolling down his face. His stone cold emotion was holding everything back. But it couldn't hold back his tears. Kakashi listened. His story was similar, but Kenji is also younger and still processing it all. Kakashi ended up in a side hug with Kenji. He rubbed his shoulder.Kenji had only known the man for a few weeks, but Kakashi was the one that saved him as a newborn. Kakashi felt a sort of bond with that.

”I know you don't want to let go of it all, and you don't need to. Use it to move forward. I know there is already some great people here that care for you. I know the Mist betrayed you in a way, but we aren't the Mist.”

Kenji nodded.

”It sounded like you had some great teamwork with your friends and that is the first lesson I ever teach to my students. Keep bonding with Sasuke and give Rei a chance. I'm sure this team could become your foundation to move forward. We are more similar than you think, so you can always come to me, for anything.” Kakashi eye smiled.

”Thank you.” Kenji was genuinely happy. He wished he met this man instead of that commander.

In the Hyuga manor, Hiashi couldn't sleep. He couldn't escape this familiar feeling. This chakra he felt. He HAD to see. The older man raced out of his home. He fazed across the rooftops until he found his target. He flickered behind the boy. Kenji flicked around with a kunai. Hiashi motioned out of the way, but stopped. The white, ghostly gaze that met his made him shiver, but beneath it, he saw someone he yearned to meet. Kenji noticed he wasn't moving. He stopped his blade inches from a throat.

”Is that really you?” Hiashi quivered.

YEE YEE FELLER. Aight kind of boring I know, but I feel like development is what makes a story great. If you don't experience everything with a character, how can you feel an attachment to them? Goteem. Next chapter will be the mission and working out some kinks in the team. And something might happen. I'm out. YERRR!
