5 Chapter 5 : The Beginning of the End (1/2)
To be honest, Kenji and Hansuke were scared shitless. What were they perfect for? Why does Yagura want them? What does He want them to do?
Before anyone could inquire, Yagura turned to the shark Anbu and said ”Lets go Commander.” He had a light smile. Probably content with the result of his unexpected visit.
Kenji didn't expect any less. The Anbu Commander of the Mist? No wonder even Yagura treated him accordingly. At times like these, he was thankful Aya never allowed him to use the sharingan. Not that he could at all though. Aya was no Uchiha. She had more knowledge of the Uchiha than the typical shinobi, but she could never teach the sharingan simply because she didn't have one. Aya didn't want to teach or tell Kenji something wrong so she allowed Kenji to experiment on his own time.
With his stubbornness to figure everything out, she assumed he would exceed a breakthrough just by sheer effort alone, and he did. Kenji just couldn't show it for some reason. He expected it's why glaring haunts the back of his head on the street but he still wasn't certain.
The two boys were exhausted and received medical attention immediately after. Yagura himself escorted them to the hospital. Mostly par for the course. Bruises, scratches, and both had matching cuts on the right forearm. Probably received during the skirmish of kunai.
Yagura dismissed himself soon after the boys were admitted. While nurses patched them the two didn't say a word or even look at each other. Finally, the hospital employees cleared out, leaving Kenji and Hansuke to their thoughts. After a few seconds of awkwardness, Hansuke glanced at Kenji.
”S..So where did you get the Ninja wire?” He asked still feeling the sting of defeat.
Kenji smiled and bragged ”My mom gave it to me a few months ago, so I've been practicing different ways to use it.”
Kenji rolled up his sleeve to reveal a circular mechanism spooled with thin, clear wire.
Hansuke widened his eyes, ”Woooowwww.” Kenji could see his eyes glowing with admiration. ”That's so cool!”
The boys started talking about their fight and complementing each other, giving pointers on what they could improve on, and what their guardians had taught them. After an hour, which seemed like ten minutes, a doctor emerged and released them to the wild. The duo stood at the doors of the hospital, smiling, content with how the day turned out. Yagura was clear when he dismissed them from the rest of the school day. Whatever he thought of them as, he didn't want to push them too hard. Yet.
”Which way are you?” Hansuke asked Kenji.
”Left.”
”Ok I'm going right.” Hansuke smiled. ”I guess I'll see you at the academy tomorrow.”
Kenji looked towards Hansuke. ”Ok see you!”
