73 Chapter 73 – Towards Capital City (1/2)
Zhu Xuan was shocked after hearing Wu Qian Ren's statement.
He wondered ”Does the Inner court disciples really have the authority to recruit disciples apart from the noble clans who got selected in the selections?”
Wu Qian Ren spoke ”I should explain first how the Academy and the Imperial family work when it comes to selection of the disciples for you to understand.”
Seeing Zhu Xuan looking at him with concentration, he smile and continued speaking explaining the recruitment of disciples in the academy.
Once the academy bested the four sects and announced themselves to the whole kingdom, there was a need to increase their strength and the system of selections of every three years announced from various clans to make the clans dependant on them and to control their clans by having their younger generations in the academy.
But after years passed, there was no retaliation and this became a normal way of selecting talents for the academy and not for controlling the family, and the academy grew in size but the selected disciples are only from the top clans and the numbers also considered too less for an academy and the talented students also started to decrease.
So a system was found in the academy that every year, the ten noble clans can recommend 25 people each from all over the kingdom and the inner court disciples are allowed to recommend one member each, while the top ten disciples of inner court can recommendthree disciples, and finally Core disciple can recommend ten people each.
From these recommended disciples, two hundred are finally selected by holding a competition in the academy. This will be held three months after the selections from the clans in each city and the selected disciples are accepted into the academy as outer sect disciples.
After he explained everything Zhu Xuan understood how the recruitment of disciples work in the academy.
Wu Qian Ren said ”I have an invitation for recommendation. I can recommend you to enter the competition in two months, and I'm sure with your strength you will be able to easily reaching the top in the competition.”
Zhu Xuan thought about it ”If I can join the academy, I have more chances of encountering Zhu Lang or understand his movements so that I can plan ahead to kill him. Moreover, if I'm in the capital I can find out more details about my enemies and also know the situation of Zhu clan, especially about his Aunt and tenth sister.”
After organizing his thoughts, Zhu Xuan cupped his hands and smiled ”Thank you Brother Qian Ren for helping me recommend for the academy. I will always be grateful to you for it.”
Wu Qian Ren waved his hand saying that it is not a big deal and handed over an invitation to Zhu Xuan.
Zhu Xuan took the invitation from his hand and thanked again saying ”I will definitely be there in the academy for the competition in two months.”
After the meal, they prepared to leave the mountains to return to the academy and Zhu Xuan also said he needs to return to the Caifu city. They will be separating from here since they will be going to Tanxin city and moving to the academy from there since that is the shortest route to the academy.
Everyone said their goodbyes to Zhu Xuan and Wu Shi Yun hugged him and said that he will miss him so much making Zhu Xuan not knowing whether to laugh or cry. In these few days, they got very close resulting in such a reaction from Wu Shi Yun.
Wu Qing also came to him and said she will be looking forward to meet him in the academy and she will watch the competition to encourage him.
Zhu Xuan smiled and thanked her before waving to them after all of them left in different direction.
