48 Chapter 48 – Wu Tian Jian (1/2)

After the break, fight among the top ten disciples started in the afternoon.

Zhu Xuan observed the nine people he had to fight. Among them five are the twelfth level, three at peak of eleventh level, and two are at tenth level of body purification stage.

Apart from him, the other person in tenth level of body purification is Wu Tian Jian, he is from a subordinate clan of Bai clan and the other member selected among top ten disciples apart from Bai Ling and her elder brother Bai Ling Tian. He awakened the darkness elemental roots, which is a sixth grade elemental root, a grade higher than Zhu Lang.

Wu Tian Jian's attacks and movements were unpredictable and bizarre, and everyone fought with him so far had a hard time fighting against him. Zhu Xuan felt he hadn't shown his full power yet. But he also felt sad for him since his level was restricted due to his young age and if he was given few more years, he would have reach peak level of body purification stage easily and would become the winner of the selections.

He cleared his thoughts and observed the fight in the arena. His first fight was with the Juan clan member who is at the eleventh level of body purification stage, who also activated fire elemental roots.

It was an easy win for Zhu Xuan considering he was most proficient in fire element since it was the one he practiced from the beginning since he came to this world. His level of utilization and power in fire elements is definitely the best in body purification stage. Even though he is good at other elements too, it's not as smooth and powerful as with his fire elemental Qi.

His second fight was with Fang clan member who is at the twelfth level of body purification stage and he is a wind elemental cultivator. Fang Ya Zi used bow and arrow and attacked from distance.He figured if he attacked from distance and not let Zhu Xuan reach him, he will be able to defeat him easily.

But he was shocked when he saw Zhu Xuan formed an elemental spear in both hands and threw it at him. He dodged in haste and released his arrow. Zhu Xuan also dodged and released fireballs at him. He defended them easily and Zhu Xuan was also able to defend with the arrows he couldn't dodge on time.

Both were at a stalemate and both realized they can't do anything to each other since long distance attacks are not powerful due to dissipation of Qi.

Suddenly Fang Ya Zi took an arrow from his quiver and used his wind elemental Qi and released the arrow. It was too fast for Zhu Xuan to dodge and he tried to defend it, but he was pushed back ten meters almost close to the edge of the arena. His hands holding the sword bled.

Zhu Xuan was shocked and thought ”How did the speed and power increase so fast? Did he also think of the same solution as I did? No wait; he took an arrow from his quiver instead of using an elemental arrow like all his previous attacks.”

He dodged another arrow in haste and looked at the last arrow he defended which was on the floor. It was a steel arrow but there was array markings on the arrow and he suddenly understood the reason behind the increase of speed and power of the arrow and chided himself ”Why didn't I think of this method? He used a wind array on the arrow so that it will enhance the wind elemental power and slow down Qi dissipation in the arrow. I could use this too in the future.”

Zhu Xuan was excited at this new idea, but he immediately calmed himself down and dodged another arrow. He also found there were only few more arrows left in the quiver of Fang Ya Zi, but he couldn't risk until the other party finish all his arrows.

He dodged another arrow and threw another spear at him. But this spear was different; it had a chain linked to its end and the other end of the chain was connected to Zhu Xuan's hand. Fang Ya Zi dodged this attack and moved back thinking Zhu Xuan might be using the chains to bind him and close in on him.

But Zhu Xuan yanked the chain and the spear moved sideways towards Fang Ya Zi who was moving back with great speed. He also used his elemental Qi to change the spear into thick staff and it slammed on the sides of Fang Ya Zi. He got injured heavily on his sides and fell down. Zhu Xuan closed in on him and attacked him with his sword and Fang Ya Zi defended with his bow, but he formed a Fire Qi sword using his other hand and put it close to Fang Ya Zi's neck.

Fang Ya Zi couldn't do anything anymore and admitted loss. Everyone watching the match was shocked and amazed at the various utilization of Zhu Xuan and his different fighting style and were impressed by it.

After a short break and recovering his body to optimum condition, it was time for Zhu Xuan third match against Wu Tian Jian. He was looking forward to this match since he saw Wu Tian Jian's battle style.
